New Autavia Viceroy Re-Edition- CBE2118

While I like this video for its presentation of the watch, the racing driver suit & helmet is all wrong.

To me, the Viceroy was associated with Indy Cars, to my knowledge no Gulf livery race driver wore this watch. What's even more strange is that the helmet of the driver in the video appears to be a Clay Regazzoni replica. Odd because I associate Clay with Heuer & Ferrari, but not Gulf Racing.

The racing suit should have been more like this:

Let us know when you're part of the Viceroy club.
I'm seriously thinking about it. But with limited funds, I can only afford one new watch about every 2-3 years. With 2019 being the 50th anniversary of the Monaco, I need to hold out until at least Baselworld 2019 before deciding on the Viceroy.

So with all due respect, I hope you're wrong about it being limited to 150. The TAG Heuer website says "Special Re-edition", which implies it's a special edition, not a limited edition.

You definitely have a very good point there, even though I love what I see with the new Viceroy I'm also excited for what TH has planned for the Monaco 50th anniversary.

I hear you. Haven't received any additional details regarding that.

UPDATE: Just called one of the boutiques that received them.

It appears that the final version is not numbered. So it seems they decided to not limit this to 150 units after all.

So for anyone interested, this should buy you some time to make a purchase later.

That’s great news. Thanks for the update. I was hoping that if it was not an LE I could offer the purchase until the new year and combine pickup with a trip to NYC. Do you think an AD in the States would take an order over the phone from someone in UK?

Welcome! Try calling the TAG Heuer boutique in NYC to ask if you can purchase one and then pick-it-up in person when you travel there.

"This $200 Heuer chronograph - yours for only $88" 🙄 those were different times indeed, wish my daily newspaper had Tag discount coupons like that

Yeah. You had to send them Viceroy cigarette coupons, plus that amount.

How about the '64 Mustang for $2500!

Awesome! Was really hoping this would be the case. Now just need to enforce my will power to hold off until I see what 2019 might bring, but the Viceroy pushes all the right buttons for me.

I like the design better than my original heuer 02 reissue but not having running seconds kind of kills it for me.

Wow, I didn't pay attention to that until you brought it up. I guess I don't have a look at the running second's hand too often, but it becomes a bit of a turn off in this case. Maybe that's something TH could change for the "non-limited" WW edition we talked about previously, a running seconds hand? 👍

I do like there's always movement on the dial but the look of the bicompax is just too good for that to bother me

Yes, the looks of a watch may justify not having running seconds (I love the Hodinkee Skipper 😗)

I agree with you, but for me, it would be okay with just having a 30-minutes chronograph and having running seconds instead. It's not too often I actually make use of the 12h chronograph feature of the Rindt edition...
