J JtechicoI like the design better than my original heuer 02 reissue but not having running seconds kind of kills it for me.
No running seconds? Just like the original then. 😀
BTW-check out this rendition by Luther on OTD-

A small bezel tweak and suddenly it's a whole lot more homagey....and far far better IMO.👍

Agreed. A couple of further tweaks I would make are to reduce the length of the long tick marks and delete the Heuer 02 text, as follows:
I think that cuts down on the busyness of the dial.
"This $200 Heuer chronograph - yours for only $88" 🙄 those were different times indeed, wish my daily newspaper had Tag discount coupons like that
This ‘revelation’ is probably nothing new to seasoned watch and especially vintage watch enthusiasts - but as i’d not thought of this point until now - that the ‘cheap’ tool watches of yesteryear are now repackaged as luxury items (and I’m not talking about how the price of a Rolex Submariner has gone through the roof),
Also worth noting is that the reason for the Viceroy promotion (which sold for $88 plus proof of purchase of a carton or two of cigarettes) is that when they were introduced the $200 Chronomatic models were too expensive and not as flashy as the then-brand-new quartz watches, and thus sold poorly 😁
