So presumably they weren't allocated any then?
And let's be honest, if Hodinkee designed the Autavia it wouldn't have a TAG Heuer badge on it and it wouldn't be a modern interpretation...

If they're not allocated yet, they will be soon.

Well let's keep being honest then: Nobody who wants modern interpretations cares about the Autavia name, and nobody who cares about the Autavia wants a modern interpretation.

So this thing is a real win/win.

Hodinkee has a way of gushing over every watch they write about - because hey whaddaya know, they have it in stock in their store and you can buy it right now!

Unusual for them to actually say what needs to be said.
Yeah they need to move some GS stocks. I just got a mailing from them how great these are.

Got that one too. They're not wrong though, GS are indeed very very nice. Only problem with them is there's a new special edition every week, so it can be a bit too hard to choose. I think someday I'll probably end up with a Hi-Beat, maybe if I find myself in a few more dress-watch situations.

Well they don't have it in their shop and on my understanding it's an online only watch... so maybe TAG are only selling it themselves?

The current Autavia interpretation has been out on the market for a while. If they sell zero, it sure seems weird to double down on something no one wants. Would be so interesting to hear from someone working with TAG how well the Autavia is doing

ABtW and others have said it’s an LE, Hodinkee don’t mention it I think and TAG Heuer simply uploaded them to the website but no further communications.

Definitely not an online-only watch. There are multiple examples ready to buy at the Boutique here, at least, and I doubt they're unique in that regard...

Again anecdotal based only on my experience but the Autavia display at the Boutique and also every other AD I've seen since it launched, has been unchanged. I don't think they're selling well.

That was kinda funny, but then he probably doesn't actually own one and so is unaware of how rough it is around the edges 😁

Do you mean an official TH boutique? Cos I was told they were only online and maybe Oxford St.

Yes, so your equivalent of Oxford Street...

So you mean you were told that the Autavias are online and major boutiques / boutiques in major markets only?

Could be for now but I'll bet by a few months' time they'll be on display everywhere (where they will probably stay, but time will tell if they sell)

Is that how it's pronounced? I always thought it was "Awtahvia", must be my American accent. 😗

I've always said it "awtayvia" as the name is a portmanteau of automobile and aviation.
