Update on the Monaco cal 11 glitch.
TAG head honcho at the workshop said the sub seconds should not jump when reset. Its not right she said.
I heard it straight from the horses mouth.

Wonder why they sent it back to you unfixed then?

Regardless, it should not skip, mine don't. But I wonder if this behavior is intrinsic to certain batches of the movement, or if it's an ETA vs. Sellita thing?

(Fob you off culture) Well the customer service lady tried saying it was fine and said they are not making it up they have stripped it down and found nothing wrong with it .
You guys knew what I was talking about when I explained it yet they couldn’t follow my explanation.
Anyway I politely dug my heals in until she said she would get the head of workshop office to contact me.
I sent a video of it to her. A slow motion one and a real time one.
I will let you know her explanation if there is one.
To be continued......

Since it only jumps when you have the chrono hand stopped between 35 and 45, I suspect this might be the first time this issue has been raised to TAG Heuer. It's probably super rare that anyone would have stopped the chrono at that exact spot and then stared at the seconds hand to notice it jump.

My thoughts exactly! I dont even measure if my watches keep precise time or not and would never have noticed a thing like this

Might ask them for a chief tester job.
I’d get to try all their new watches out . Ooo that would be great

You have greater powers of observation than most!

I had to look hard at your video to figure out what you were initially talking about. I also stared hard at my watches when recreating your test condition. Otherwise, I wouldn't have noticed in a million years.

I work with fine detail being a joiner/carpenter. I get anal about measurements and tools doing their job properly or how they were intended.
Maybe I should forget about it and become liberated.

Sounds like mechanical watches might be something that will eventually create some anxiety for you now and then! Old mechanical tech that sort of keeps precise time, isch :p

Well at least they are going to look into it, rather than the “they all do that Sir” comment the motor trade are infamous for, allegedly.

After many years of saying I was going to get a SMQ Monaco, mine arrived yesterday and does the same thing. Guess I'll enjoy it on my wrist and send it back in for service w/in the 2 year warranty period.

thx for all this info.

Is it only SM Monaco or all other Monaco too ? I used to own a Monaco (not the SM one of course). Don't remember about having a problem except the sub dial doesn't reset exactly to zero. I sent it toTH service and they got it done for about 3 weeks.

I haven’t sent mine back in yet.
Decided to do the same as you.
Fed up of having it and not being able to wear it because it was being posted here there and everywhere.
A bit like Andy Warhol not setting the time on his Cartier Tank.
These beautiful luxury items aren’t for telling time. They’re just f**king cool!
