So Hodinkee will become the LVMH Blog. Fascinating, I'm sure!

Well, it is the new way of the world. Get rid of all the print magazines and buy the online media. Forums will be the only place to voice negative opinions, but for how long!

Im pretty sure Hubert is CEO of TAG Heuer America, hence why he discretely deletes posts that are too negative? 😗

IF the rumour is true, I wonder how it will affect all the low number insanely expensive limited editions that Hodinkee is making with different brands.

Apparently Bella and Max borrowed Hubert's chopper to go to the Monaco grand prix. Just sayin...

Wow! I’ve been eyeing an Autavia Hodinkee Orange Boy for quite some time now.. 😗😗

Is it like Richemont buying Watchfinder? 😕

I’m not totally surprised. LVMH needs to immerse itself more in the digital realm where Hodinkee has made a big leap back in 2008 as a start-up company. The only issue I see is that will credibility and impartiality be affected towards LVMH and non LVMH watch brands. If it’s cash inflow from LVMH to widen Hodinkee’s digital reach, then go ahead 👍 But “influencing” is the name of the game when it comes to the fickle digital world 😗

Did you know it's actually a requirement of employment of Hodinkee that you have a well kept beard? Even the women must have nicely oiled beards. JCB would have got short thrift from Hodinkee with his freshly shorn chin!

LOL, only posts that are duplicate, embargoed, or that violate the Forum rules.

It would be good to be CEO, but I would settle for a frequent-buyer discount!

If anyone deserves such discount it should be you 😀

Hold up- LVMH hasn't bought Hodinkee.

They have a venture capital fund, LVMH Ventures, which has made an investment into Hodinkee. LVMH V take equity takes of between 5% and 25%- their model is to help grow a business and then sell it on. So based on what we read, we can assume that they have a minority stake. LVMH V's objective is to eventually sell the stake and realise a profit, it's not to move to full ownership (although nothing can be ruled out)

While this may feel like it's splitting hairs, it's not the same thing as LVMH buying the business and running it.

Either way, there would be a lot less speculation if Hodinkee had announced the investment rather than let people find out and join the dots. Frankly, they should be congratulated for creating something that LVMH wants to buy into- assuming of course, they manage the potential/ perceived/ real conflicts
