I posted about this on Instagram and learned ( via @SteveP ) that there were actually several other characters wearing Heuer in The Living Daylights.

General Koskov, wearing a Heuer Titanium.

The evil henchmen Necros, wearing a Heuer Regatta.

Also several other minor characters apparently are wearing Heuer too. Seems the prop master must've gone on a Heuer spending spree for the movie. The best movie product placements that TAG Heuer never paid for!!! LOL πŸ˜€

More on the Heuer watches in The Living Daylights here: https://commanderbond.net/10038/james-bond-wore-a-tag-heuer-wristwatch-part-ii.html
This is a fact we've missed.
Maybe there was a formal sponsorship agreement when the company was Heuer.
Since the company was acquired by TAG Group, it became an old contract, so they may not be able to show the sponsor credit.

All in all, the watch Bond wore must be Heuer logo, and other clues complement that.

My guess is that perhaps the prop master simply bought these watches without engaging Heuer/TAG Heuer. In any case, I now personally believe Bond's Night Diver was branded Heuer. All these clues overwhelmingly point to this.

However there is one thing in this article that I don't agree with: https://commanderbond.net/10038/james-bond-wore-a-tag-heuer-wristwatch-part-ii.html The focus is on Bond's other watch. The author, Dell Deaton, believes with 20-40% confidence that Bond wears a Heuer Series 1000 980.013 (stainless steel, black dial) throughout most of the movie. But I really don't believe it is.

"Finally, around 1 hour, 13 minutes, 49 seconds into The Living Daylights, Timothy Dalton is shown completing a jump from one Tangier rooftop to the next, swinging with the aid of a television antenna. The silver-colored watch brightly reflects as jacket rides up forearm; texturing on the visible band is consistent with that of a jubilee-style bracelet."

The author made this guess watching the DVD. However, when I watched the Blu-Ray version I could see the shape of the dial was rectangular not circular. So it can't be the Heuer 930.013 watch. (Which is a Rolex Submariner wannabe if you ask me, why not wear the real deal as he does in License to Kill?)

I have no idea what watch it is. Looks more like a Cartier, Longines or JLC than a Heuer to me. I am not aware of any Heuer or TAG Heuer with this kind of rectangular style of case. Except perhaps the Monaco or Silverstone, but they were square and were no longer in production during the 80s.

Is there any Heuer or TAG Heuer that looks like this from the mid-80s? If not, it's strange that so many characters (including Bond) are wearing Heuer but this other Bond watch might not be a Heuer or TAG Heuer.

Being utterly simplistic-I only ever 'found' Heuer/TAG due to The Living Daylights. I was just watching the film one day and pondering why we didn't all know which watch TD wore. (It turns out those in the know DID know, due to the research done prior.) So it became a real interest for me to see if I could further the work and try and pin things down further and is also why these were the first Heuers in my collection-

So yes, I believe TD wore a 980.031L (above right) and, if the previous research is correct, a 980.013L (above left). HOWEVER, I do also agree with @Mspeedster that there is no specific evidence to support the 980.013, at least not that I've seen.

Moving on to the elusive 'Tangier Heuer' then, well, where we are currently is that it is actually a 'Tangier Cartier Santos'-so good call on the guesses! πŸ‘

It was recently identified by niccoloy on IG Nick on Instagram: "Bond. James Bond. In terms of timepieces, we associate him with Rolex, Omega, Seiko, Heuer, Breitling and Hamilton. We can add one more…" and fits with what I had already found out about this watch.

Precise model is still to be ascertained as this is all very new! 🍿

I follow Nick, but must've missed that IG post. Would've saved me the trouble of scrutinizing that scene. LOL πŸ™„
But thank you @SteveP, just knowing the answer to Dalton's other Bond watch makes my day. πŸ˜€

In addition to the above photo of Dalton's Bond wearing the Night Diver, I found a few more images.

I'm elated to have finally joined the 007 Night Diver club!!! 😁

Thanks again @SteveP, my journey with this watch couldn't have started without your help! πŸ‘
Congrats @Mspeedster; very cool! 😎
Thanks @Hubert! I'm really enjoying this one. It's way cheaper than buying an Omega Bond watch and being a Heuer fan, this one is way more meaningful.

This year (2022) marks the 60th Anniversary of James Bond, the perfect timing for me to have finally acquired this watch! ::rimshot::

Dalton's Bond, wearing a HEUER Night Diver. The shape of the Heuer logo is visible in this pic, taken from my DVD.
1308905-27e98f85dc83fd634578f1203817f008.jpg

As we already established, Bond wore a Heuer 1000 Night Diver. But there are two Heuer versions, 980.031 (thick case, older version) and 980.031L (thin case, newer version with "1000" just under the Heuer logo). It was stated in Dell Deaton's article that the experts (including our own DC) believe it's the thin case 980.031L. (The TAG version 980.031N is also a thin case.) But I decided to do my own research to double confirm.

@Yago had pointed out that Felix Leiter also wears the same watch in this post. But it was hard to see from that photo, so I took a pic from my Blu-ray. Here again we can see the wider shield indicating the Heuer logo. I can also tell by the shape of the crown guards and thinner profile that the watch is most likely the thin case 980.031L. Another clue is that it seems like there is a line of text just below the Heuer logo in pic I posted above of the watch on Bond's wrist. Hence, I do believe the Heuer 980.031L is the definitive 007 Night Diver watch.

One more thing, the watch can be had with a white date or black date. Both photos show the watches used in the movie have the black date.

I'm not sure, but it seems that Dalton might be wearing the Night Diver again in this shot. At least the watch looks dark like PVD, however it could just be the lighting.

OTOH, the Cartier that he also wears in the movie is the more suitable watch to go with formal attire.

I spent a good deal of time this past weekend "watch spotting" the heck out of The Living Daylights again. Unfortunately, I could not find any evidence or even clues to suggest the silver watch is a Heuer 1000 980.013. So I feel the prior research was more speculative given all the other Heuers in the movie. In fact, I believe that the silver watch that makes various fleeting appearances is the same Cartier Santos that was IDed by Nick as the Tangier roof top watch.

In the first scene after the opening credits, the sniper scene at the concert, the watch is briefly visible in this shot. Looking at it frame by frame, the watch looks like the Tangier roof top scene's Cartier to my eyes. The flat case and style of bracelet are the biggest visual clues.

Thus it's my belief that only the Heuer 1000 Night Diver and Cartier Santos are the two hero watches of the movie. Clearly I've gone into "movie watch nerd mode". 😜

As an aside, I got a kick out of Craig paying homage to Dalton in Spectre when Bond and Dr. Swan visit Tangier. He's wearing a very similar outfit.

Craig again pays homage to Dalton in NTTD, by stealing his Aston Martin V8 Vantage. LOL

I always thought of Craig's style of Bond as being Dalton v2.0, albeit Craig's movies are better. 🍿

The Imposter Double-0 also wearing the Night Diver in the Living Daylights.

Another shot of the Night Diver on Bond's wrist.

Nomi, the new 007 in NTTD, wearing similar tactical gear as Dalton's Bond. Too bad she's wearing the wrong watch. πŸ˜‰

It's not watches, but it is Bond......

I found myself eyeing up new coffee machines recently and found this : https://www.jamesbondlifestyle.com/product/la-pavoni-europiccola#:~:text=In the 1973 movie Live,is talking about the mission

They still make them and I can see us getting one......
(we recently found a lever-press mechanical juicer that it would sit next to very nicely 😁 )
But there are also watches here πŸ‘:
