I am suspicious. Not least because CW2113 has a blue dial!

I have seen older ones on the TAG website that didnt have blue dials, I believe they were just different versions?? Are there other concerns that jump out to you immediately??

Help, not sure if this is real. Looking to sell and I want to know what to expect.
No reference to Swiss Made on the dial. Isn't that a big giveaway?

Yes. Date window not centered. Very poor/scratchy caseback engravings. Unrecognised colour scheme. Poor quality of subdial hands. Incorrect subdial markings. Wrong model number. Tag Heuer on dial/Heuer crown. Poor quality strap. Apparent corrosion on a supposedly stainless steel case. It just doesn't look right.

Thank you very much for elaborating!! I appreciate the detailed feedback.

Hi, new to this forum and hoping you can help. This watch was sold to me as a ladies vintage 200m. I noticed two things immediately upo receiving it- 1. "Officially" has a space between it on the dial, and 2. The Heuer stamp on the clasp isn't centered. My scale needs calibration it should be pretty close to accurate- the watch registers as .05kg.

Sorry- that's not a genuine TAG Heuer.

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I'm disappointed but not surprised, based on those 'off' details.

The main "tell" with these is the bracelet. On a real link bracelet, the half-links are not fused together like they are on yours. But the dial and hands are also a big giveaway.

I was able to return the watch. I so appreciate your help. My quest continues!

Dear experts. I've just joined and really enjoy looking at the photos and reading your comments. They are helping me while I look for a first TAG (well, I say helping but I keep changing my mind when I see another model). Would I be able to ask that you please explain why fakes are fake? It may be obvious to you, but to my untrained eye they look OK and it's only when you very kindly go into detail that I see immediately what the problem is. Not only is it helpful but it's interesting. I've already spotted one on eBay and reported it - a very obvious 4000 that was "waterresistatn" to both 200m and 300m depending whether you read the front or back.

So, now to my choices. I find I like the immediately noticeable design of the 4000 gold/steel auto model. Would you say there are more fakes than genuine out there, or vice versa?

Secondly, I am attracted to bright colours (like magpies to silver) and wonder about this Aquaracer on eBay, but I can't find anything specific about it on line. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TAG-HUER-Chronotimer/122578094533 and there doesn't seem to be anything within the site. I've seen the same model for sale in a jewellers on line store for about UK£950 and wonder whether that's good value or not.

Again, thanks for all your interesting comments and feedback.

And to my next question. This 4000 series is on eBay at the moment. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USED-VINTAGE-TAG-HEUER-200-M-SILVER-DIAL-AUTOMATIC-MANS-WATCH/152429314892

There are a couple of doubts in my mind - firstly it's marked as 695.706 but doesn't the 7 indicate a white dial, whereas this is grey? Then the movement. It seems to be an ETA 2824.2 and match the photos I've seen on line with one exception - that top plate. (1) The TAG Heuer mark looks wrong, and in any case should it be there at all? (2) what's that 1.93 in the middle, and (3) should it say "Swiss Made" not "Swiss"?

Thanks again. This is becoming an obsession!

This one looks correct to me, although the green has worn off from the Tag Heuer logo on the case. But not sure I'd pay that amount for the watch. The Chronotime above looks quite nice, though, if you can get it for a reasonable price.

Just purchased this TH 2000 Series, can anyone tell me if it authentic or not? Seller says so and also says his feedback speaks for it's self. He has a few up for sale.
