The criminals who make the fakes will use serial numbers from genuine watches to trick customers. There can be thousands of fakes using one same genuine serial number, so the match in TAG's system doesn't prove anything in itself

Which is the official document by Tag Heuer dealer, the TH-WAS is the official Tag Heuer Warranty Activation System by the TH dealers.
Don't they need to have a verified Tag Heuer account to access this information? The details in the document matches the watch.

Great news again! The boutique on the invoice has confirmed via email that the invoice is genuine and matches the watch.

This means that the only way the watch could be fake is if the private seller has bought a fake watch with the same serial number and warranty card as his genuine watch, but the likelihood that a private seller would do this is so small that it's not worth making that assumption. If you care about this assumption, you shouldn't buy used watches online.

Despite the fact that I'm 99.99% sure that the watch from the private seller is genuine, I am still tempted to buy the watch from the professionel seller instead, both because of the right of withdrawal and the warranty until January 2025. However, I'm still trying to figure out if the professional seller's access to the th-was Tag Heuer Warranty Activaton System document (https://ibb.co/VTTgJ8Q) proves that they have purchased the watch from a lawful origin, or if this document can be accessed by anyone. Can anyone confirm this? When I go to was.tagheuer.com, I have to log in to gain access, so I guess you need a specific account to view it. If it turns out that anyone can access this document, there will be no proof that this seller purchased the watch from a lawful origin, and I would definitely not buy from them for that reason.

Which deal do you guys suggest I choose?

I wouldn't personally buy from a professional seller unless they were very well known within the watch community or if they were a proper TAG authorised dealer. Random dealers who seemingly have access to lots of models and cheap prices are a recipe for ending up with a fake.

The private seller has no feedback/reviews on chrono24. It is very common for private sellers to have no reviews on that platform, since most of them haven't sold a watch there before. The professional seller, orologi & dintorni vintage s.r.l.s, has 4.9 stars of almost 400 reviews since 2012 (https://www.chrono24.com/dealer/oedvintage/index.htm), so they are very well known.
But as @Aquagraph pointed out, you can't really take reviews seriously precisely because they are written a few weeks after receiving the watch, and you only find out if the watch is genuine years after purchase when the watch is opened up for repair or servicing. On the other hand, if it was the case that he was selling fake watches, one of their many customers would have reported it to chrono24, which would then get them banned from the platform.
Buying a used watch online is harder than I expected

OK, so I just took a look. That seller looks OK and the watch is likely fine - at least I'd have reasonable confidence it's genuine. Are you in the UK? If the watch is coming from Italy you will be charged VAT/import duties on top which will add 20-25% to the price.

Luckily Im from Denmark so I don't have to worry about VAT/Import duties.

So i recently received a Tag an I was wondering if someone could help me authenticate it? I am new to this forum so I’m not sure how it works.

Yes I sure will ! Thank you. I’m at work now but I seen this forum and thought i would try. It’s a model CAF2010 aquaracer 300m. The movement is marked but i know how fakes are now days.

I think it’s ok . The quality is perfect. I have the Serial number if that would help. Am I will send pictures as soon as I get home.

Hello, looking for some confirmation about watch authenticity. Serial number CAZ101V seems legit. Under that is RTX2903 what does that code mean?
Also, the Chrono dials on the face are silver, someone I had been speaking with indicated the watch may be fake as the Indy 500 limited only comes with white Chrono dials. Is this true? Appreciate the assist

I'm curious if my Tag is real. Formula 1 indy 500 limited CAZ101V seems legit for the model. Under that is RTX2903 what does this code indicate?
Also, I was speaking with someone who mentioned that model only comes with white Chrono dials and mine are silver. Does this mean anything? Thanks
All the silver ones i could find on the net looks like replicas due to some known issues.
Not sure, but post a pic of the watch, and also the sticker hang tag if you have it. Also post a pic of the movement inside.

It is a Tag Profession Series, stainless, gold plated. There are 2 numbers on the back of the case (WG1113-0 and F#####). I'm thinking that the one starting with F flowed by 4 numbers is the serial...but what do I know. Can someone help me out? I have pictures attached. Thanks in advance.

It's actually WG1130 not WG1113, looks fine to me... although what's going on with that green on the date?

Does it definitely say CAF2010? Because that should be an all steel watch, not two tone.
It’s definitely says caf2010 but i thought they made a solid gold two- tone and a plated stainless two tone but im not sure.
