Another gem from eBay's superb authentication service. The serial number on the watch and on the warranty card are different, but still the watch managed to get authenticated 🤦

I wonder why counterfeiters don't make these screws. Is it really only in TAG?
According to James, they don’t bother because it’s a lot less noticeable. The reason for the screws is so the dial and movement don’t shift when you set unscrew the crown and set the time. Which is done a lot more on a mechanical watch. I’m only going by what James has said to me specifically. According to him, fakers haven’t used screws in their quartz movements yet. But that could always change some day.

Hello TAG experts

I got this TH at an estate sale and am questioning its authenticity. The case back lacks an ID number and the movement is an S Epsom AL82A, which seems more for Seikos. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

James

You’re correct about that movement. That watch is absolutely unauthentic. The case, bracelet, and dial are of low quality as well. You win some, you lose some. It seems like every estate sale TAG is fake. I’ve been in your shoes with this scenario before. It’s a good learning experience. Stick around and take a look through this thread. It’s very long, but there is so much information in here, it’s been extremely helpful to many people, myself included!

Thanks very much. I will definitely look through this thread. Only spent $20 so not a disaster and worth the learning.

Hey a $20 lesson sounds like quite the deal considering how much I owe in student loans lol

It is, without doubt, a terrible fake watch that looks nothing like an authentic TAG Heuer
Thank you! I found it at home, I will not spend a dollar fixing it up.

Thank you again

Hi everyone.
Just created my user. New on this matters.
Hope someone can help me.

Got this watch recently, and want to know more of it.
Searched for it but couldn’t find a similar one.

I believe it’s a Kirium, but this one is automatic .
What do you think
