Glad you picked up a brand new 40mm from AD in the end, at least you can sleep comfortably, knowing you have a sexy genuine TAG Heuer Aquaracer
Thank you we will see how this rep business plays out in the future

Bought this Tag on ebay. It came with a warranty card and when I registed it on the tag website with the searial number it registered succesfully. However, now I am starting to doubt the authenticity for a few reasons:

My watch: https://imgur.com/a/4ys8V76
Official website: https://www.tagheuer.com/gb/en/time...41-mm-calibre-5-automatic/WAR201C.BA0723.html

1. I saw very similar listings from other sellers
2. A few details seem slightly different e.g. the 'TAG' in the logo looks thinner than on the Tagheuer page
3. On the bracelet, the shield around the logo seems to be thicker than the website

Could anyone offer any insight?

While the TAG Heuer stock images aren’t the best examples, I also feel like something is off here.

the rotor is the only part of the movement with decoration on it, iirc, these had decoration on every bridge. The logo and text on the dial look sloppy to me, but it could be the photo.
I’m interested in what others have to say

"I registed it on the tag website with the searial number it registered successfully"

Doesn't that mean that the serial number was valid and and also unused? In a fake, wouldn't cloned the serial number be already registered?

After registering, if you're able to see the warranty status on the My Watches page, then it means that no one else has registered the watch (and still has it registered) in their profile. If you see the warranty status, then the chances that the watch is a fake/clome is quite less because otherwise multiple people would've registered the same watch.

Yes, it registered, but the warranty is out of date

Understand what you mean by the tag page, but I looked at several used pages / other deals, and they seem to match the tag website

Would it be possible to open up the case back and take a high quality photo of the movement? The 3rd gen formula one models are extremely hard to tell nowadays.

I don’t personally see anything wrong, but I’m not 100% familiar with this reference. Im seeing the screws for the movement holder, which is a great sign. I also see the correct movement, and spacer.

As far as I remember, there was already a topic for these screws, and then we came to the conclusion that these screws should be on the mechanics and not on the quartz

No. These screws should be on all movements. The fakes don’t put the screws in the movement holder on the quartz movements, but do sometimes on the autos.

Hey guys! I found something a little strange today.
I pulled out my warranty card on my F1, and used the QR code on the back to search the watch. It ended up doing a Google search for my serial number on my watch, which turned up a listing from a year ago on watcharts for this model with my serial number and warranty card. While it does line up with when I purchased mine, looking at the scuffs on the clasp, I can tell it’s not my watch.
I know that fakers are taking real serial numbers from real TAGs and using them on fakes. But does this raise suspicion of my watch? I’ve posted it before and James was fairly confident that my watch is genuine, and there isn’t a single thing off with the watch. Here are the photos of the listing I found.

vs my WAZ1010

Hang on… look at the eBay listing pic next to my watch. Look at the mark on the corner of the 2 on the 20 minute marker. And look at my watch… its the same watch… no wonder the serial number matches.

Just had a great online chat with Stefano @ Watches and Crystals.

I was asking about authenticity of watches and asked, 'If I buy a watch from you and send it to TAG Heuer for authentication will you take it back if they say it's fake even if it's out of the return window'.

He neatly sidestepped this by saying, if you tell me which watch you are interested in we can get it verified for you - the TAG Heuer boutique is just down the road from us.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
