Maybe you have a photo of the pin/barrel?
Pin And barrel is no good in F1 with std bracelet. Only on Senna and ceramic bracelets. This is a tell for Carrera, AR and so on.
Std F1 bracelet use cotterpins, not pin/barrel.

I lack expertise in watches. I discovered this watch in an auction lot box. Can you let me know if this is authentic or a fake. Thanks in advance.

Sure, real pin/barrel pairs have a double notch on the barrel and a single but offset notch on the pin. Fakes only have one notch centered on both the pin and the barrel. Much more difficult to manufacture the double notched genuine connectors. Here's some shots from a BA0928 bracelet. One from a fake watch and the other from the same model genuine Aquaracer:

I think it's real, although clearly quite beaten up, missing paint work, and the bracelet has a lot of stretch.

Looks real but not pretty. There are many nicer and reasonably-priced used TH pieces available via used marketplaces.

Looks good. Why do you think it's fake? You need to look at the movement.
Just looking at the different shape of the ‘E' in the bezel, we can say it’s fake

And another obvious difference: the different marker position between 80 and 70

Yeah thanks.

Also noticed some differences like

* Bezel on the original Tag the spaces between the upper and lower halves of the 5 on 145 are equal. On the clone, the lower half is much larger than the top half.
* Bezel color on the original Tag looks like a deeper blue. On the clone it looks different.
* On the original Tag the word “TACHYMETRE” is centered between the 60 and 240. Clone is off centre. The print is not crisp and clear.
* The 8s 60 65 looks like a different font.
* The “1” on Formula 1 on the bottom subdial is exactly centered between the 2 and 3. Clone is off center.
* Watchback engraving is crisp and clear on the real one. Clone is not.

I'm confused though cos I bought this online and was authenticated before it was sent to me. I've mentioned this aesthetic differences to the watch service who authenticate it and they said the watch is authentic and serial checks out, that may be this was outsourced for manufacturing. Still feels off though so trying to see what I can do.

I'll try to remove a link and check the pin and barrel as well as the watch back and report here.

…they said the watch is authentic and serial checks out
The serial number does not prove anything about the authenticity of the watch, since many counterfeiters use authentic serial numbers on their fakes... there is simply an authentic watch and many fakes that have the same number engraved

This is clearly a fake Formula 1. I’m sorry

I seriously doubt that watch is original. Poor quality links and metal in the case....Case looks plated not solid.

Hey guys. So what'd I miss?

lol what the hell is up with that bracelet tho. Is that supposed to be a grand carrera clasp, on a formula? Interesting. Couldn't even do that if you tried, seeing as how the clasps have female ends, while the cheaper formulas have male ends.

next issue is, that bracelet is supposed to be a ceramic center links one. Next, is the bezel, that is also supposed to be ceramic.

lol never seen them use hollow end links on a fake 4000. Interesting. But no, it's not authentic.

A little beat up for $650. But yes, it's real. Not really going to find a fake one of these, that looks even remotely good.
