Can anyone help to tell if my watch is authentic? Model number is CBG2A1Z.FT6157 . I have verified the serial number on Tag Heuer website and it is legit. I made a comparison of the back case and front case with videos on Youtube it looks similar. However I noticed a slight difference, if you look at the my watch face photo (last photo), the button to reset chronograph (bottom button) is blue colour stripe, but those video on youtube and official watch image, the blue stripe button should be located on top (chronograph start button) whereas the black stripe is on the bottom button.

EG:

Question: Will there be a slight variation to the design for different watch batches?

My Photos:
I am no expert in these but can't imagine this one is fake. If it is fake I would be "impressed". Do you know if it has been serviced at some point? Could it simply be that the pushers were put back in the wrong place

It was 45 days after the purchase, beyond the 30 day mark.
Yes, which is my point. It's not ebay that did you dirty. Ebay doesn't protect buyers after 30 days. They protect sellers. You lost the watch, because you essentially told the credit card processor you do not want it back. That's just how charge backs work. And like I said, this goes for ANY merchant, or even no merchant at all. If your buyer uses a credit card, they have 6 MONTHS to return something. And while ebay doesn't want to lose the case, they have literally ZERO control over the matter. They are at the mercy of the credit card companies for 6 months, as much as we are at the mercy of ebay for 30 days lol.

I'll have to look into it. I don't think anyone on here has enough knowledge to give you the perfect answer tho. None of us has actually dealt with the clone versions of such watches. Cheap fakes, sure. But not good clones.

yes, watches do have slight variations for different watch batches. Tho usually they add a -0 or -1 at the end of the model number, and or clasp/buckle numbers . I can't imagine why they'd switch colors tho. Simplest guess ( if it's real) is someone either messed up, or someone swapped them during a repair. All the pics I found, have the blue on the top button. Have you asked the seller this?

as far as serial numbers on tag site. It means less than nothing. Almost all the fakes now, use real numbers that you can track on the site. As far as I can tell, they now buy a real version of whatever watch they are planning on producing. From a legit source. And bam, serial number that's active. I'm not saying that's the case here. Just that it always can be the case, and therefor you can't use that as a reason.

Where did you buy the watch? Who did you buy it from? What did they say the providence is? Have you asked?
Is it brand new? Did they claim it's brand new? When did you buy it. When does the serial number say it was bought?

no lol I absolutely still despise ebay with every ounce of my being. And no one should ever start selling on ebay if they can help it.

Thinking about serial number scams. If I check the serial number of a legit new watch that's for sale at an AD what would it return?

My main source is I google the ref and watchfinder. Watchfinder is basically the only reseller I feel I trust.

There would really be no point. If you need sample pics to help you decide, then I wouldn't recommend buying them. You have to be very experienced to be able to figure out that model, based on sample pics. Your best bet is to just ask us on here. Now, if you upgraded to the larger model and got the one with ceramic bezel, then a sample pic would help.

It is being sold on a Facebook forum, apparently it has not been used, the warranty has expired. Do you think it is authentic?
