I must say, as a seller, this is concerning. So someone just tells eBay the (real) watch I sell them is fake and then they can just blow me off?
I had an issue with eBay on a sale of a watch. I listed and sold a watch and had a “no return accepted” due to it being an older automatic watch. After 45 days of ownership the buyer asked for a refund and to send it back as he stated that it wasn’t keeping time. After 45 days it would be obvious to most it was something on his end. I said I would not accept a return as he must have damaged it as it was fine up until then.
I filed my claim stating why a return should not be accepted and had evidence, photos and info. EBay ended up refunding the customer their money with no watch return. EBay stated that the payment method company that the customer used refunded the customer based upon his claim. EBay then claimed I owed eBay the money back and even though I sold through eBay since the buyers payment company filed for the buy they would not support me the seller and processed a refund. Refund was not only the money I received and also the tax they paid. I personally will not be selling anything on the bay. To many fakes and too many loopholes for shady buyers. Mine in the end paid nothing for a pretty nice watch. I paid double to own one
I rarely sell my watches, the few that I have were to reputable independent dealers. Being fully aware I could get more $ selling on my own. But I just didn't want the hassle. Your story is like a worst case scenario for a seller. 🙁

J Jerm12Can anyone tell me if this Tag watch band is authentic and what model/models it might fit or what would be a fair price to list it on eBay for ...any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. It has two sets of numbers and letters on the clasp one is y-wt and the other FAD005
That really sucks! If ebay was demanding reimbursement, I would've demanded that they at least force the buyer to return your watch to you. I've always heard that ebay tends to side more with buyers' claims, but this seems so unfair! 😡

While I'm no fan of ebay, something is missing here. Your issue isn't with ebay. It's with credit card processors. Ebay has a 30 day money back guarantee. What you had, was a credit card charge back. That is literally the same no matter where you go through, if a credit card is used. You lost the watch, because you denied the claim, and the credit card processor made the decision that their customer was right. The reason you didn't receive the watch, was because you denied the return, therefor telling them that you don't want the watch. Again, has nothing to do with ebay
