Hi thanks for your input
I paid £1050 for it also
Iv sent it back now and hope there’s no problem with refund

Hi guys, been reading and viewing a lot of the posts/photos last couple of days after stumbling on this forum. Very interesting read.
Had these watches bought for me and my dad quite a while ago, probably a good 13-14 years now (Rough guess) by grandparents after they visited the US.

Always had a funny feeling about them, but think that’s just because the boxes seemed a little battered and bruised and missing paperwork/ warranty cards etc.
Also after seeing your posts about Aquaracer being a commonly faked watch and both of them also not showing on the warranty checkers I was curious if these could be fake as well.

Cheers

The modern aquaracers are the commonly faked watch. Not the older ones. Nothing looks wrong with yours.

That’s fantastic. Appreciate the replies both, it’s put my mind at rest and can enjoy them a bit more!

How does this look ?
Lume pip not lined up at 12 and a description that says all of :
Mens Tag Aquaracer Calibre 5 which doesn't inspire confidence
This thing is supposed to try to be a WAY2111 right? Terrible fake. First tells that give it away in 2 seconds are the short minute and hour hand. And that lume pip. And what is up with that date wheel? And the placement of the date window.

And the case is all wrong. Wow this is sooo bad.

Can someone report this criminal? Not that ebay will bother taking it down...

I'm glad you know what it's supposed to be because I don't.
The only luck I've ever had with having fakes removed is when @jamesbiz has helped

If we both report this thing it might help.

I've just reported it.
Is XWAY208C an actual bona fide Aquaracer number ??

Quite a bit thicker than the genuine Aquaracer!
It's got the same numbers as the fake one on Ebay but looks nothing like it.
I think on the YouTube fake the divers head is pointed 🤪
I messaged the seller to tell him his watch is fake and reported it too but nowt'll happen 😡

In case you don't know your watch was made in the second half of the 1980s - production stopped in 1988. My wife has the same watch in steel, had a new movement last year (£200) so they are available in a worst case scenario.
