I pride myself on knowing a certain amount about TAG Heuer, but I have recently come across a fair number of elaborate fakes that even I cannot tell from the real one.

The one pictured here is supposed to be a fake, can you spot it?

I believe the calendar magnifiers are different, but otherwise I don't know what distinguishes them from fakes.

Hey brobeans, I know that WAY fakes are getting close to impossible to tell these days. The Bamford in the photos you posted is very easy to tell in my opinion, the finishing of the material is clearly not correct, looks too smooth. The genuine WAY208F has a kind of sparkling sand blasted finish, it should look like this:

Yes it looks fake. The box is the first clue that something isn't right, should have the special orange box.

Then the finish doesn't look right either. Doesn't have the same sandblasted look and sheen as the real one.

Indeed, the surface finishes are very different.

I just found it difficult to tell them apart when seen alone.

If the seller says the box is lost, it will pass, and the serial number is hidden, but when I contacted the seller of this fake, he gave me the actual serial number.

You should send George a message on Instagram and show him. I'm sure he will respond with his opinion.
After all it is his watch and what better person to give you a definitive answer?

Good luck @Snowy

Remember that fakes often use a genuine serial number, so that detail doesn't really prove anything.

Great spot on the shot blasted finish @Jim Dollares
I've done a fair bit of shot blasting from my 45 years in engineering but hadn't noticed that.
Sometimes fake Aquaracer case backs are badly finished and have a plucked appearance when the tool's tip should've been changed.
Stainless steel is very unforgiven of poorly maintained tooling.

By coincidence, just spotted this fake of the Bamford. Looks to be of the same origin. But with a price of $935, who's it trying to fool?

Hello, I have a question to knowledge peoples. I am interested in used WAZ1112.BA0875. I found a many of items on sale, but the serial number located in a different places, I found on the back cover in center or on the edge of back. Where is the serial number must be located for this model in the authentic one, approximate 2018-2020 years of manufacturing.
