Oh well then things are fine. Some extra money in the pocket and a fake watch to enjoy 馃檮

So yeah, basically 'we sell fake watches', no point in taking it back, lets get what we can and hopefully the customer doesn't care enough to demand a refund!

I dont get it. Why a partial refund? The seller just hoping that the person who bought it is an idiot?
I've had these sellers offer partial refunds. I think they think this might convince you into believing it's not a fake, or else why would they offer you a discount. And now that it's discounted, it's an awesome deal. They wouldn't do this, if it hasn't worked in the past....

I mean, it's not like they couldn't just get the watch back and resell it to someone else for the full price. The bigger accounts tend to do this, as they intend to stick around for awhile. The throw away accounts, don't care.

Yes - that is precisely what they think.

Good point I suppose. Amazed with the level of idiots we see in the world...

He鈥檚 telling me he paid 拢300 for it and wants to break even on it. He has said if I don鈥檛 agree to the partial refund (and keep the fake) he will do a full refund and then recover what he paid by sending it back to his supplier. I don鈥檛 buy it, I think he鈥檚 trying to shift it to me for 拢300 or he will have it back and have another go at selling it for what I originally paid.
Does anyone know what actions eBay take once the return has been completed? Will they investigate him? Suspend him?

You can presumably leave negative feedback warning future buyers? Get your refund first, though!

Ebay make great money from all this criminal activity so they will not bother. I think James managed to bother them enough to finally get in contact with some high level manager that he can/could report criminals to and then ebay removed them. Takes a ton of work to shut these criminals down since Ebay makes money on it. Even if they get taken down they are back under another stolen account soon enough so its a never ending hunt.

I doubt you will be able to, a full refund usually deletes the feedback button...

Only sometimes. Such as if seller has free returns. Or if the transaction is cancelled.

Can somebody please edit my photo to show/highlight where you can see the differences that make it obviously a fake please? I want to upload that edited picture to eBay to show its unarguable, I believe the hands on the sub dial are the wrong colour and as someone else said the 12 marker doesn鈥檛 sit quite right under the 60?

Thanks in advance,

Stu

Just look at the 60 seconds subdial at 3 o'clock and compare it to yours. You see how the long gradations are in different places on the original? That and the serial number belonging to a different model surely seal it. There are other things that look slightly off on yours such as the TAG logo and general finishing.

Thanks for explaining the detail, yeah I can see it clearer when the pics are side by side, I just want to have a strong case for eBay! Appreciate your time

Ebay won't look or care or understand the difference. And if I were in their place, as a non watch expert, I'd just think it's a variation in models. And they wouldn't be far off, as many tag heuers have weird little differences between model years. With ebay, nothing is "unarguable".
