Nice to have an ex-TAG Heuer staffer on the forum!

Thank you - very kind and pleased to be here, guys 馃榾 I would say my 2000-2010 knowledge and overall brand insight is strong (but a little rusty) then have kept abreast of things since then, but need to download some of your extensive knowledge
馃榿 talk about walking into a lions den, with a porkchop hanging from your neck.

Mmm, I love pork chops

But I prefer if we can have a more direct contact, restricted to us and James H. If we create a thread we will have to always wait for him to visit the forum. Whatsapp or similar would be instant and less stressful for me.

Agreed - my mobile number is +44 2113 6183 - want to make the process as stress free as possible

Gents - please feel free to post some TAG Heuer questions from that era and I will do my best to answer them, however as I say - I have been out of the game for a while, and it鈥檚 possible that other members may be better placed to answer them.

Good morning all. Newbie here. Looking at buying my first Tag today. I am meeting the seller today to look at this Carrera. Model number is CV2010-2 and also has EEX0699 engraved below the model. Pictures aren鈥檛 great. No original box. Seller said he sent it overseas for repair because it wasn鈥檛 keeping the date. Is this a legit watch? What would be a good purchase price? He鈥檚 asking $1,650.

It looks legit to me from the pics. CV2010.BA0786 RRP back in 2005 (or thereabouts) was 拢1,350 - the later models retail a lot higher, I see them around for 拢1.5k+ in mint condition on a bracelet. Is it an original TAG Heuer racing strap with logo and is hard to see what condition the fixed polished bezel is in. After conversion I would say the price is ever so slightly high if there are still probs with the movement. Would confirm provenance and other service history before buying as this may set you back. Mine has issues with date also, fairly common with this model. Hope that helps.

Thanks james. He said he purchased it in 2009 for $3,300.

Sounds a tad punchy to me, 拢2,350 perhaps...as I say I may be wrong as haven't kept up to date with all price increases. Good luck!

Based on the conversion rate back then according to Google that鈥檚 about the price you mentioned. Thanks!

Hi, newbie here, I鈥檝e just purchased a Tag Formula 1 with the nato strap from ebay, the seller is someone with very good reviews and sells numerous items like monitors and hard drives aswell and watches. I liked all the pics he had and the back story seemed a little shady, had from new but unboxed with no paperwork, but the price reflected that. We agreed on 拢560.

The watch arrived yesterday and it is stunning, couldn鈥檛 be happier.... until..... I checked the serial number on the back of the watch against Tags after sales checker, their site kept refreshing on me after I input the details and I managed to get a picture, the watch shown on their site is completely different, does this mean 100% it is fake? Or could there be a error? I鈥檝e let the seller know what I鈥檝e found and he鈥檚 agreed to a full refund, but I want to be sure it鈥檚 fake before sending back, which at the moment is extremely hard given the tag stores are shut...

Any feedback is welcomed and appreciated, thanks for reading,

Stu

Yup 100% fake. Just google this reference number and compare photos of the real watch with yours.

A deal too good to be true always is just that. And you mention "back story seemed a bit shady" but still bought it?

Report the seller and give negative feedback. Also please out the seller here so @Aquagraph can add him to the black list of filthy ebay criminals that deserve to die 馃憤

Subdial markers and 12 o'clock marker look off to me - and as you said, the serial points to a ladies' AR.

I think @jamesbizs is the expert on fake CAZ1014s.

No need for James, this is a bad fake.

That was mostly referring to his name popping up while I was idly searching for other examples of the fake CAZ1014s.

I understand 馃榾 my point was only that this one is so obvious fake, we have seen exact fakes like these before. Instant tell is the right sub dial as you mentioned.
