I'm not an expert, but too many things spotted, thought it was a fake based on bracelet. Now that the date window has been pointed out I'd say its almost certainly not genuine.

Hi all,

I got this watch some 13 years ago as a hand me down from a relative who received it as an unwanted gift. Can somebody shed some light on its (supposed) authenticity? I’m having doubts (although I have zero experience). A different watch comes up when I search for WK1211 and I assumed it to be a red flag. After a whole bunch of digging, I found this exact watch under number WL55119.BA0700… Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

Hi, can you tell us some basic information about this watch please? I'm not 100% convinced it's fake... is it a man's watch, a ladies watch or a midsize watch? If you don't know can you measure across the case (not including the crown). Is it an automatic or a battery watch? If you don't know, does the second hand tick or move smoothly?

The reason I don't believe this is truly fake is that there aren't any good fake Kiriums that I've seen. The bracelet doesn't collapse, which means it's made to spec (or genuine) and it's an expensive bracelet to make (this was one of the reasons it was discontinued), there are some models with the date window that don't touch the rehaut (that ring around the inside) and it's clearly an early model because it has the Mercedes hands instead of the bespoke 'Kirium' hands.

Looking at the pictures I'm skeptical about the clasp still, it's the right shape but I'm not sure the TAG Heuer logo was stamped like that back then and looking at both my Kiriums and my wife's Kirium it looks like the clasp should be split centrally for an interference fit. I suspect it may be a Franken watch, but maybe not 100% fake.

Sorry, but there's way too many red flags on this watch for it to be genuine. The reference WK1211 is not correct (this should be a mid side 2000 quartz). Sure, the caseback may be from a 2000 series watch. But the hands (particularly the seconds hand) is incorrect, and the font (chronometer) on the dial is also not correct. I'm leaning 95% fake. I've seen fake TAG's from this era appear to be "Franken" watches. A co-worker at work has a fake S/EL (Link) with "1500 professional" written on the dial.

To the OP - what can you tell us about the actual watch? For example, is it an automatic (sweeping seconds hand) or quartz (ticking seconds hand)?

Fake too me, here's my Kirium chronometer dial and bracelet. Second hand looks totally different and inside of the bracelet is not the same.

Hi! It's a man's watch, 42mm case diameter (12mm thick), 20mm band. It's automatic.

Considering the person this watch came from, I'd be surprised if it was a fake but then again as many of you have pointed out, there are quite a few causes for concern... Now I'm kicking myself for getting rid of the original case at the time, which I remember only hazily.

Just noticed as well, the shape of the lump on the left is wrong.... I'm tending to think fake now. Also the T's are missing from the dial...

And, the cut outs where the bracelet joins the case are squarer than they should be...

I’ve never seen a Kirium replica before. I thought it was an authentic case with a fake dial. But now there are other case and bracelet issues.
Good to know there are good Kirium replicas.

I can forgive the lack of "T's" on the dial. I had the dial of my Classic 2000 replaced a few years back by TAG Heuer Customer Service, and the new dial does not have the "T's" (which indicates tritium paint). I think the newer dials are painted with super luminova (or equivalent).

But yes, way too many red flags. Also, look at the shape of the case back denoting a WK1211 (if we were to assume the caseback is from a 2000). It's completely wrong for a 2000. Here's a photo of the caseback of my 2000 below the Kirium for comparison. Although my model is a WE and not a WK series, the cases are very similar, if not identical. Also look at the engravings on my caseback - totally different...

Hi all, new here, be gentle 😀
Hopefully did my research and picked up my second Tag, a Coke Bezel 2000 Series, WM1112, to add to my 4000 Series I got a good few years back.
I did a lot of checking and rechecking on this one, but it's always good to get some opinions.
What do we think?

Looks fine, nice watch. I've often thought about getting one of those you've done well to find one in such good condition.

Looks good to me too. I had one a few months back but sold it to fund another watch. Mine was all blue.
