Is my TAG Heuer Authentic? All questions here please

I just got the battery replaced in this watch because I want to sell it but now I'm scared that it may be fake. It's heavy like a real Tag and from what I can tell it's authentic but it has no serial number. This watch is over 20 years old; I read that older watches don't always have serial numbers. The jeweler didn't say anything and I didn't think to ask him when I picked it up yesterday. I figure I can ask when I go back in a couple of days to pick up and get an estimate to repair my Omega but I want to know as soon as possible if I should be looking for another way to help pay for my dog's vet bills. Could you please give me your opinions, I'd really appreciate it.

So sorry, I hope these pics are better. Thank you so much!

I think maybe the guy didn't adjust the time perfectly, is that something I can do myself?
Oh, I see what he did... it's set as though it's midnight instead of noon and so it's turning but it's not perfectly centered .

A couple of those pics are a bit blurry, plus you haven't shown one of the bracelet which would have been good. But I don't see anything other than a genuine watch in very used condition.

Looks okay to me, usually when you find fake SELs they don't have separate links in the bracelets because it's cheaper to make them as one link. Just one thing though, and I see this a lot on Ebay, weight in and of itself is not a good indicator of being genuine, or being a good quality watch. I had a fake TAG years ago and that was heavier than most of the real one's I've got now, because the bracelet was plated brass or bronze or something.

Hello again! 馃榾

I've just won this Tag 2000 series on eBay. Pretty good condition, complete with all the official paperwork.

Hopefully my research on avoiding fakes has paid off!

Thanks again for all the help.

Thank you, I feel better... I would hate to sell someone a fake. That's interesting about the weight. In the past, that's what has always given it away for me. I don't even bother looking at the watch if it's not heavy. I've learned so much by reading the comments posted on this forum. This watch is probably 20 years old. I think I'm going to have a problem because it doesn't have a serial number but I'm hopeful because it's for a good cause. 馃榾 Thank you so much. Nowadays, I've become completely reliant upon people I've met online so I really appreciate those who took the time to offer their opinion. 馃榾 And the date seems to have centered out ....so sorry... internet was down...

Is it just me or is the bezel in completely the wrong position?

Well, there is no 'wrong' position.... it turns to facilitate dive timing.

I was testing out the bezel by rotating it and making sure it clicked correctly but then forgot to rotate it back before taking the pictures

I'm totally getting into this, I've been looking online at Tags all day and it's almost the next day.
100% Fake, without looking further than the thumbnail.

I initially started reading this thread beginning at the end with the most current posts but after reading several pages of comments I decided that I should start at the beginning instead so I restarted at page 1.... I saw your post about the watches not being yours.... with all the back and forth between you and a few others I caught on that yall were posting fakes that you came across. After reading several pages of comments and discovering that most of the shared links were expired I decided to return to the more recent posts, starting somewhere around 108. I had a tab open where I was editing that reply; I must have closed it in an attempt to reduce my number of tabs and windows. But I managed to keep a few open so that I could ask you about them. I was trying to read through everything before posting because I didn't want to repeat a fake that had already been addressed.. (sorry for rambling) Anyway, after comparing many I noticed that the hands of the watch weren't as long, Quartz was printed on the scratched face and that the hour hand is directly over the 2 even though the minute hand isn't directly over the 12. Either I'm learning more about these watches or I'm not but I know enough to know I don't know much. I found a couple others that looked fake to me but without seeing enough of the authentic ones, I can't be sure. One being this one that states, "Acrylic crystal is in good condition!!!*****************" https://www.ebay.com/itm/TAG-HEUER-...398512?hash=item1f06763db0:g:tH0AAOSwzwpd3T9i This seller has so many watches that I started to wonder if they were all fake or I really, truly don't know sh*t. I also came across a website that brags about it's replicas https://www.replicamagic.to/about-us/ I was also trying to get a good idea for the price I should sell but I have less of an idea now then when I started comparing prices a few days ago.

It's always hard when newbies ask 'why' a watch is fake and how we can be so sure so quickly. Honestly from my perspective a few years ago I didn't know a thing, but for the last four years I've been looking at TAGs pretty much everyday and after a while it gets so that you can spot the bad fakes without even thinking about it. I suggest the first thing you do is familiarise yourself with the model ranges, often we spot fakes because they aren't even real models (a lot of Indian sellers on youtube sell some atrocious looking supposed TAG Heuers that aren't even 'copies' of anything TAG have ever made) so that's the easiest.

Keep browsing Ebay and you'll find you see the same 'fakes' over and over in the sub 拢200 range, these are really bad - look at the case and bracelet finishing, look at the hour markers and hands, look at the TAG Heuer logo. Sometimes the lume is a giveaway as it's an awful shade of green. Pretty soon you'll start to get more confident about your opinions and if you need help post it here and one of us will tell you.

Generally speaking the older a fake is the worse it is going to be, and so on the whole you'll find fake S/ELs are pretty bad, until recently I hadn't seen a decent Kirium fake but we had one the other day.

The one above I can say is fake straight away a) because I saw it the other day, but also because the S/EL bracelet links are separate pieces not joined together as you can see here. Also watches like this where the dial is dull and hard to see is a red flag, although having said that some genuine S/ELs aren't that clear. It really is a case of familiarity, even then I've seen things I thought were fake before and they turned out to be genuine... unfortunately there's no short cut to learning this, it's just something you have to pick up as you go.

Oh and generally speaking I would say that that seller's (eztime) stock is genuine, but I'd still be cautious and look at each watch individually.

Not to mention "Made" is spelled wrong on the back! I do practice checking the fakes too. It's an incredibly informative forum

What about sellers on eBay who seem to mix fake watches with the real thing ?
There's one on there at the moment who's selling fake Hydroconquests and what looks to me a genuine Tag WAF1111 and a WAH1112.
I'm 100% sure the Hydroconquests are fake, having been scammed myself馃が but the Tags, even though I have 3 I'm not so sure.
I've reported quite a few of the Hydros, some times they get oiked but more often they don't.
I got mine from watchcompany-1 who got shut down only to appear straight away with another name and hundreds of feed backs, shut down again and ended up as worldofj62.
