I thought you were joking with “Bens” and “300 ALR”... but it’s true! 🤦 ::facepalm1::

And the 300 “ALR” engraving is... 😵‍💫... you can compare with the original:

second watch from this same walmart seller, turned out to be fake too. I bought 3 watches from him. The first one was real, but was an older CAF1010 digital analog. But it was previously worn and sized, despite being sold as new.

The latest aquaracer I just got, has a different style pip than normal. But I'm pretty sure it's from the same manufacturer. They are using the new box styles too. There are some tell tale signs on the box, but I don't know if they are detailed enough to see in pictures, like the older boxes were.

Why do you keep buying from him?

I didn't "keep buying" from him. I bought from him.
Twice, no. 3 times. If the 2nd was a fake why did you buy again from someone who'd sold you a fake?

Again, I didn't KEEP buying. I bought multiple watches at the same time.

AH, that makes more sense, it looked like you'd made 3 separate purchases.

technically, yes. I made the purchases separately, but before receiving them. Plus, read through this thread, and you'll understand me a bit better 😉. I go after counterfeiters. I also buy new watches to figure out how they are real. Just so happened, that the watches I bought to use as real examples, were fake too lol. I bought some on amazon too. Fake. It's amazing how these large companies get away with it. A normal person would never know.

I don't know. I found a counterfeiter months ago on amazon. A ton of reports and feedack.

Look at that feedback! And he's been selling for MONTHS after amazon fully refunded my purchase without even a return, so you'd think they were taking it seriously. But no. I was going to buy a watch on ebay, but then I noticed a detail off.

I asked the guy who he bought e watch from. And loe and behold, the same amazon seller! So amazon clearly couldn't give a crap.

OK so after reading through this whole thread, you seem to be the expert on this! Come to the conclusion the watch is definitely a fake, and the seller is definitely a fraud.

They said they'd accept returns but afraid to be sent it back and left with nothing, I think I'll try and speak to an actual person at PayPal!

I'm NOT by any means an expert, but it might be genuine.

Thank you for the reply, I left negative feedback for the seller and it disappeared within a few hours which I thought was strange, the watch even came with a dodgy 'certificate of authenticity'.

I have two genuine Calibre 5 Auto's which I love and even considering this is supposed to be vintage, is just super light. I'm afraid now to send it back to the seller in case they scam me!

Gah. Headache!

IIRC the 1000 "pre-date" the calibre movement nomenclature.
I have to say though that on a closer look at the back, that model number doesn't look right.

Look back through this thread and you will find the red, blue and two-tone/black dial 1000s were ubiquitous at one point.

Post up the seller, so I can take him down.
