Post up the seller, so I can take him down.

Based in Austria, like a lot of them seem to be.

PayPal are asking me to send back the fake, which I'm fine with, except surely these fraudsters have a way of scamming the returns process also?!

It's actually illegal to ship a fake internationally. And no, there is no way for them to scam the return process. Trust me. I have reverse scammed dozens of these people. I have NEVER sent back a fake watch.

WHen did you buy the watch? Where are you located?

Yeah PayPal weren't budging on it so I did send it back, will see what happens but I won't leave it till I get my money back obviously.

I'm in Ireland and sending back to Austria.

PayPal used to be a lot better in terms of fakes etc. Not overly impressed with them at the moment. My own fault of course!

I said to them that it's illegal to ship a fake but they still weren't budging.

Also, the dial of the watch itself was completely flat, no raised lume etc. so probably another sign to watch out for.

Damn it, I just want a nice 1000!

ok so I see two sales from may 24th and June 22nd for that watch. Why don't you open an ebay case? You are well within your window.

why'd you go with a paypal case instead of ebay? Also, I would have just sent an empty box. Buyer is always right. They can't prove you didn't send them a watch, and have no option but to refund you. If someone is willing to scam you, they don't deserve someone being nice to them.

I think it's a little different on ebay.ie, I had to go through paypal for some reason. Yeah I was going to just send back an empty box but decided I'd no interest in having a fake watch. Usually I would be the first person to try and p*ss these people off! Totally agree with you, they don't deserve it.

It was very close to being a very good fake, if they finished the extra few details, I probably wouldn't have noticed.

Well, it's less about you having a fake watch, and more about the next buyer having that fake watch 😉. But yeah, I understand.

And if you take a look at this thread, you'll see watches that have those extra few details... Most people won't notice for years, unless they send the watch to tag heuer. And even then. one guy that bought a watch from this austria seller, sent it to tag and they said it was real!

Yeah that's a fair point!

It's crazy the money these fraudsters are making. I saw that about the watch that was sent to Tag, that's unbelievable they couldn't spot a fake. I'm not too surprised to be honest, one of my Tag's was sent to the UK in March and still waiting on it back, I wouldn't mind but it was to re affix an hour marker that came off! They probably spent 3 minutes looking at it.

What gives it away to you?
Exact same laser engraved serial number on the back as the one I purchased as opposed to engraved, 'Swiss Watch' as opposed to 'Swiss Made' (not on it's own a determining factor), the same printed dial with flat lume, perfect condition for a 30 year old watch and I feel the plastic ring (not sure the technical term) above the dial isn't very Tag like. This to me looks like a genuine seller unwittingly selling on a fake (possibly).

To be fair, the service centres have been closed for weeks. I am in the same boat, mine went back in February - but mine are coming back soon!

have you made it your mission, to find the most disturbing fakes there are to find? Or are you just a sadist?

A question that I have pondered before. I suspect it is the latter 😉😉

Honestly I was actually looking for bargains... but all I came up with was terrible fakes! Love the 1930s TAG Heuer... 😜
