Nico is an absolute hoot! He was made for social media.

Tag up or down, don’t care, still on my wrist.

I think they made some good points about Tag. If you look back on the year Tag has had some really nice watches and taken some big direction shifts. Some we like and some not so much. But they did advance brand awareness in the community in a positive way. Tudor has really played it safe with staying in the Black Bay lane and need to get something else going if they want to get bigger market share. Especially for women. There’s not one watch my wife has any interest in. My wife enjoys both the Solargraph and Carrera’s from Tag.

Yes I think there were fair points made about both TAG and Tudor. While everyone seems to love the new glassbox and Skipper, they also spoke highly of the Aquaracer, especially the Solargraph, and the Monaco Skeleton. They even seemed to like the Rowing Blazers.

I also agreed with them about the Pelagos becoming more interesting than the Black Bay and the need to bring back Tudor's heritage chronos, like the Monte Carlo.

A clear sign that the tide has turned.

No doubt 2023 was a good year for TAG Heuer, but they need to continue the momentum in order for the watch community at large to further embrace them.

I am starting to wonder how much brand preception and marketing plays into how we perceive a watch status...although Tag is no longer top 10 in revenue generated it still finished with a larger market share than Tudor.

How do you crush something you are already ahead of and despite the recent praise for the glassbox from the watch community, I see much more interest for the 42mm carrearas with with the shades of orange around the dial which the same community bashes

Because they are 42mm and the 'watch community' generally loves vintage sub-40mm pieces. I like them though... very nice. Not £5000 nice, but nice.

It's funny to think that TAG still has a bigger market share than Tudor, the way the 'watch community' bang on about Tudor you'd think it was the other way round.

I just find it very amusing when guys like these rubbish TAG Heuer (or any other brand) when others are doing so, yet are quick to praise them, again when others are doing so. It’s almost like they need the clicks or something…

Yeah, it's like this benswatches guy, 8 months ago he posts this video about TAG Heuer being hated. He personally advised against them.

Then recently, this video about how Frederic has turned things around and the watches are now just amazing!

Yeah, this seems very very odd. Since Christian started he has always been vehemently anti TAG but pro Heuer (as is the accepted position for an influencer) but now suddenly this has changed. And he singles out the Solargraph as being one of the reasons. I mean.... what? Why?

Not sure if you are hinting that some of these YouTubers have been somehow persuaded to change their tune. I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt. But I also prefer to make up my own mind and in any case, after pressing play on that video, do not really want to waste half an hour listening to these two shouting, trying to interrupt each other and failing to get to the point.

No not really, it's more about them jumping on the wave. I mean can anyone seriously point to what TAG have done this year that means people who've previously uploaded videos about how much TAG suck suddenly think the sun shines out of their ass? Those Black Bay challenging Aquaracers have been out for two years already

But what's more intriguing perhaps is the narrative that TAG are killing it and Tudor aren't. Where did that come from? Everyone loves Tudor don't they?

I'm also pretty damn sure Christian hated the Aquaracers when they came out. Even said the launch models were just prototypes and would never come to market without being redesigned. Now he loves them, especially the green one!

So the same as most people on this forum?
