Hi all,

I'm fairly new here, but I've lurked for awhile. But my obsession with the Monaco has existed for more than 20 years. It was back in the early 2000s that I first noticed the Heuer Monaco on Steve McQueen's wrist in the film, Le Mans, and now, two decades later, I've been able to strap one onto mine!

I first got into endurance sports car racing in the year 2000 when I stumbled upon an American Le Mans Series race on TV on Speedvision and I was immediately taken by the amazing battles between the Audi and Panoz LMP1 cars. A short time later, I saw Steve McQueen's Le Mans, and vowed that I would both, own that watch, someday, and that I would make it to Le Mans. I can gladly now say I've checked both items off my bucket list!

I know many of you have this same model - CAW211P - but I can't say how excited I am to finally have it. My wife bought it for me for our 5-year anniversary, which is in September. But I was just invited by TAG Heuer to attend a VIP event at next weekend's Detroit Grand Prix and she decided that I couldn't go if I didn't have the watch. So we went yesterday and picked it up.

They say "Don't meet your heroes" as sometimes the actual thing/person/experience doesn't live up to the hype you've romanticized about in your head. But in this case, I'm absolutely in love with the watch I just strapped onto my wrist!

This is an item that I'll never sell, and it'll spend the rest of it's days strapped to my wrist as one of my most treasured possessions!
