Today we really made it to the Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit for the 6 hours WEC Endurance Race. Due to a traffic jam we missed the start, at least we heard it. On the stands we were very impressed by the LMP-cars and their sound. But also the GTs could be heard quite well. My pictures of the GT were too poor to present them on the forum. Instead I have a little video sequence. I'm sure you will discover the GT.
As for the results, Porsche made a first and a fourth Place in LMP-1, Audi a 2 - 3, Toyota a 5 - 6.
Stefan Mücke in the GT made a fourth place in his class, behind two Ferraris and an Aston Martin. I could imagine that he expected more.
And let me tell you: I hate loudspeakers!!!
We discovered the special Porsche 919 in the Porsche area.
The right half is original, the left half is made of Lego bricks.

Heartbreaking for Toyota. Poor guys, the agony was palpable.

The race took place on the f1 circuit. I presume LMP would consider the nordschleife similar to off-road. Although I remember the times when the Porsche 956 drove in the nordschleife during the 1000 km-race. But it probably is also a question of money. It is a huge price you have to pay for safety measures on a circuit of more than 23 kilometers. Although the track is in good condition, you need much more personal, ambulances etc.. This is one reason why they will always prefer the f1-circuit (except for the 24 hours race, but this is for touring cars).

·Only three years ago I promised pictures of the Ford GT. Finally I can post them now. No hospital and no mother in law could stop us yesterday. We went to the 6 hours WEC race at the Nürburgring. The result is not too bad.
The Ford GT in the pits:
The truck was not bad either: Lightning McQueen would be proud of it.
They even build their oben pilots of LEGO bricks.
Finally some shelter for an old friend ( not the Howmet this time ;-) )
