Tnx for the heads up. In NL we have BBC standard in the TV package so will be able to see it. Also just saw a docu about the wonderful Murray Walker is listed right after that.🍿

This reminds me, while McQueen & Le Mans get most of the glory, James Garner and his Carrera 3647N deserve tribute as well. DC wrote a great article here: https://www.calibre11.com/the-story-of-james-garners-heuer-carrera-3647n/

And as much as I am a fan of McQueen & Le Mans, I have to admit that I actually find the movie Grand Prix to be more entertaining! 😗

Yes, Le Mans and Grand Prix are probably the two best motorsports movies ever, and I also would put Grand Prix in the first position... also a great soundtrack by Maurice Jarre 👍

From the golden era, yes I agree!
From the modern era there's Rush and Ford v Ferrari, both very very good but I'd give the nod to Ford v Ferrari.

For those who are fans of John Frankenheimer's cinematography in Grand Prix, particularly the racing scenes, you should watch Ronin (1998) starring Robert de Niro and Jean Reno.

Yes! 👍 As a Mercedes fan, I specially like that Frankenheimer chose a 1975 Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9 for Reno and de Niro in this great car chase scene

This same V8 6.900cc S-Class version was also used as a camera car by another petrolhead film director, Claude Lelouch, in his mythical and controversial shortfilm C’était un rendez-vous (1976). It was his personal car then

Actually, I managed to find it again. Helps if you search in a proper browser rather than on a phone!

Ronin is a great movie for car chase scenes. In addition to the one with the Benz, there's also this one with a BMW. I remember this one more, because I used to own an "E34" BMW 535i like the car in the movie. But I've also owned two AMG cars, so I've got no bias here. 😀

There's an Audi S8 in the mix too from memory. I must watch it again soon.

Yeah, the Audi is in the car chase scene that Albert posted. My wife drives an Audi, so have had all 3 makes in my family. LOL

2nd photo - that's a TagHeuer Jubilee strap on the ladies wrist... one the 'Ladies' or 'Young Sportsmen' 1000 series? (looks bigger than the tiny strap on the Ladies versions)

Looks like Cuba Gooding Jr’s character “Mr. Show Me the Money” (Rod Tidwell) in the movie Jerry Maguire also wore a TAG Heuer SE/L or Link 😉

More TH SE/L from Jerry Maguire

TAG Heuer Aquaracers and Formula 1 make the bulk of TH sales. I’ve seen dozens of TH collectors who only collect Aquaracers & Formula1 watches, probably because in these 2 lineup, there are already alot of variety to choose from. And they practically work, reliable and durable. Cheers! 😉
