LOL she goes on to talk about that safe in the wall they found weeks ago and that she wanted to send live on instagram when they opened the safe but it took two weeks to get a lock smith person there and then she was disappointed to find out that the safe was empty. So this random unplanned live stream was something she thought of many weeks before 🙄 no chance then she could have prepared what watch she would wear in this random social media event she decided to stream
Then she goes on to sing Christmas songs at the end. She genuinely didn't know what to do at first. She came up with the Safe story because they had been talking about it earlier in the day, which is also mentioned in her side banter. It wasn't staged or pre-planned.

Look, I'm not so naive as you guys make me out to be. I've been around the block more than a few times. Just pointing out that there are some ambassadors who I can tell enjoy the brand and I enjoy seeing that. It's like Clooney and Omega, you can tell that guy truly loves the brand.

The watch was only in view for a few split seconds. If it was her intention to promote, it would've been on screen a lot more.

But how can you be so certain of this? The most effective and genius influencer promotion in social media is when the product is included as a natural part without coming across as marketing for the viewer

I think what is important for the world to be aware of is that in today's social media marketing / consumer brainwashing through influencers, what you ideally want to avoid is having obvious product placements/endorsements. Because if you do, you will be target to marketing law requiring you to clearly state that "this is marketing beware yada yada". The genius way of doing it, is like in this social media event you linked to where there is no way to prove that this is marketing, "she is simply wearing a watch". Only showing it in small bits, in a "natural way" means that the obsessed audience will be intreaged and think "oooh what watch is she wearing" and thinking that it aint a product placement such audience is more likely to be even more horny about the product.

But yes, I totally see and understand your point about she and others being more genuinely interested in the products too 👍

That was uncalled for. I'm out.
Yes I agree, no one is here for name calling or pointing fingers Ben. We're having an interesting discussion, and should be able to keep it civilized.

That’s perfectly fair. If it came across that way then I deserve to be picked up on it.

Just my sense of humour and no offence meant.

Internet is tricky sometimes. If we sat in the same room having this discussion we could all see how lovely Ben is, and how charmingly fυcked up my personality is

Influencers and ambassadors do nothing without careful planning, only in it for the money and fame? Get it wrong and there are plenty to step into their place.

Interesting discussion (sans the humor that fell short). Wasn't Jacob Elordi dropped as a TH Ambassador since he failed to promote the brand? If that is the case, I think that is clear evidence that he was in it for only the money whereas I agree with @Mspeedster that Patrick and Alexandra appear to have a clear passion for the brand--just because someone gets paid for wearing/promoting a brand/product doesn't negate their love for it.

Or they’re making sure they learn from his mistake. 😉

I have nothing against Alexandra btw, as I don’t pick her as the example.

This is literally the first Google result from a genuine single search as per first screenshot. Movado ambassador in 2017, which I was unaware of as never paid attention back then.

So let’s play a game of finding a number of candid photos of her wearing her favourite personal TAG Heuer’s in photo’s from 2017. I haven’t been successful yet, but happy to be proven wrong.

Struggling to find Patrick Dempsey wearing a TAG Heuer pre 2014 too…

Not knocking either of these celebs, or others who get paid handsomely to pedal products for these brands. It’s very lucrative indeed. Let’s not mistake it for what it is though.

For Dempsey I'd be a bit more nuanced… Where I live, he isn’t really a big deal (I would struggle to come up with something he is in, TBH).

So I kind of doubt that TH has to pay him a fortune to promote the brand. However, he does wear an awful lot of Tags at all times of day 😉 So that could indicate that he has a genuine connection to the brand…

Oh, am not suggesting that I know they are not definitely genuine. You could well be right.

I am just putting it out there that these alleged candid shots, showing them wearing the brands that pay them, might not actually be so candid like many of the above posts suggesting it’s fact.

Reading some of the older interviews from when Dempsey had just started as their ambassador, he mentions he wasn’t aware of Steve McQueen’s link to the Monaco until after he joined TAG Heuer. He is also quoted as saying he starting to look at vintage Monaco’s in interviews in 2020/21. That doesn’t sound like someone who has been into the brand on a personal level before joining their paid up members.

My points are literally that this is people’s jobs, with their day job being actors at the end of the day. In my humble opinion this shouldn’t be treated as anything more than what they are honest and upfront about doing. They are Ambassadors…who are paid to sell watches…
