Didn't they already put out a black-case Monaco? Either way, the 'Dark Lord' was produced in the early 1970s, not 1969, so I doubt that'll be the 50th Anniversary model. Yeah, these days a TAG must first and foremost appeal to the Art Basel crowd. Think square-cased Hublot Big Bang...
They did, but it wasn't a Dark Lord "re-edition". I only mentioned that model due to its rarity and legendary status. Maybe we'll still get a blue one, but with a metallic brushed dial, instead of matte.
Oh good call, they could even reissue a Transitional (as pictured) with the squared-off first-execution hands. That'd be a pretty fitting 50th anniversary concept actually, as those models date to 1969 and very early 1970
I don't think TAG will release a 'modern' Monaco for the 50th anniversary. It would be a suicide move commercially... much as I'd love them to make a Monaco I would like enough to buy.
Definitely. However, I wonder how they could make a new re-edition as long as they have the calibre11 version in production. I love that watch, don't misunderstand me, but I struggle a bit to see how they could make a re-edition of the "first" Monaco and still make some significant changes to the current lineup.
