Hi together,
I'm from Germany and did the exchange
It took me a while to take the decission wheter to choose the SE or upgrade to the new 45er and in the end I ordered (and payed already) option 4 (black 45er plus mechanical module) beginning of last december at TH boutique Munich.
I recieved them 3 days ago but unfortunatly with charging pad for the 41er... don't ask me why...
Both are looking so stunning and I'm sure I took the right decission

Cheers

Just to let you guys know, watch selling price is roughly 2.2k to 2.6k usd at the moment. Getting the modular may be a better option

hi, can anyone advise?
Option 1 : Fully understood, I can trade in my connected for the ‘limited edition’ watch for £1100

Option 2 : Mechanical Modular valued at £2400 for £1100

Option 3 : Steel Bezel Connected + Mechanical Module valued at £2600 for £1650

Option 4 : Ceramic Bezel Connected + Mechanical Module valued at £2850 for £1850

What I am failing to understand is Options 2 to 4.

If the Mechanical Module with strap, clasp, lugs etc (option 2) is valued at £2400 rrp why is option 3 only valued at £2600 rrp when you get the Mechnical Module (rrp £1500 just for the module) and the Steel Bezel connected module plus strap, clasp, lugs etc as well, but only £200 extra for the connected module included?

Or am I missing something totally? Is Option 3/4’s Mechanical Module in anyway different to Opt 2 or lugs, strap, clasp components to opt 3?

Not really sure what to do, the 46mm limited edition mechanical replacement is looking likely BUT I am concerned it will be or at least look bigger than my connected 46mm which is at the absolute max size for my wrists any bigger is a no go. Option 2 then looks favourite as it’s the biggest saving but if opt 3 is basically identical to Option 2 BUT I would also get a connected modular for £550 extra I am swinging towards that but how much is a connected modular on its own?

Not sure if I want the connected modular as I have an iphone, originally had an android which works great with Android Wear but IOS is limited in functionality, I have Apple Carplay in the car and that is more important to me than a smartwatch.

I posted a comparison photo of the Connected 45 and the 46 Mechanical earlier in this thread: https://forums.calibre11.com/data/attachments/470/470869-993df203274f4bd853b1e1debd6a844f.jpg

There's no official pricing on the Connected 45 module itself, but you can kind of infer the price by playing around with the accessories pricing. In US dollars, it comes out to around $400. But there's really no point in chasing "value" if you're not planning on using the Connected module anyway.

The connected module in the UK is £550 extra as its £1100 for the mechanical version including strap etc or £1650 if you also want the steel bezel connected module, that's $770 more!!!!!

I am trying to understand which exchange option offers the best value, I am not chasing an investment or looking to make money though

I have also been 'watching' the special edition versions on ebay and one went for £1650, others just aren't selling at all for generally the £1850 - £2000 people seem to want. Again I am not chasing value or hoping the limited edition increases in value but I don't want to pay £1100 for one and find that realistically its only worth £1500-£1850 new let alone used. I can actually see the value decreasing a little as more become available although no one in their right mind would sell for less than £1500 as it cost £1100 plus your old connected.

Basically it appears to me that the mechanical connected version at £1100 seems the best exchange deal as that has a £2400 RRP whereas the limited edition doesn't other than the £1100 exchange cost.

Was a pretty easy choice for me. Went with option #2, the mechanical modular 45. Added the cognac leather band. Loving it.

I picked up the mechanical module yesterday discounted to £850. Is this a fair price?

Update! I finally got a chance to see Option 1 in person and it wasn't for me. I preferred the shiny ceramic bezel. Btw, option 2 is significantly thicker and heavier than Option 1. After comparing the two, I upgraded on the spot 😀

The "end caps" are not plastic as previously mentioned in this thread. they are much better than the caps on the connected module, are ceramic i believe and gently slope down towards the strap.

I had a slight concern, there's a significant amount of play/give where the lugs join with the module. This was also the case with multiple examples in the shop. In another thread it was claimed that the modular lugs should fit very snugly with 0 play but this wasn't the case for me. Once on the wrist, it's not noticeable.. meh.

Congrats and thanks for sharing

Btw I also had some concerns regarding play/give but seems to be normal. And while wearing it's gone.
So far everything's fine

Hi, just wondering how the upgrade works if your watch was originally purchased with the Titanium strap? Do you just get a rubber strap with the upgrade or can you keep/purchase a new Titanium strap??
Thanks.

Good question. I suspect you'd get a rubber strap if you choose the 45mm Modular option and you probably can keep your old bracelet. However, I don't know if the old bracelet will fit the new watch.

On the other hand, if you choose the 46mm option, then it probably will work.

Ask TAG Heuer and let us know what you find out.

Ok, so here are the replies from Tag relating to me wanting a Titanium bracelet and not downgrading to a rubber strap on the upgrade watch:-

Please see the attached this explains the options open to you for the exchange,

You have a 3-month window to exchange the watch of your choice after the 2 yr warranty expires.

The exchange can be made at any TAG Heuer Stockist (TAG Heuer Outlets can only offer Option 1)

If you wish to make the exchange directly with us, you will need to fill in the attached form send your watch together with the Guaranteed Card and proof of purchase if you still have that. Take a note of the post reference number and return the watch to us. We will take payment over the phone once the watch you have chosen arrives into stock.

If you purchase Option 1 there is no alternative straps that will fit this piece. If you purchase options 2-4 then a bracelet can be purchased as a separate item.

So it's an extra £640 to get another Titanium bracelet. Seems a bit of a rip off as I paid extra when purchasing my original Connected with the Titanium bracelet..
So I'm wondering now if my original Titanium bracelet will fit option 1. If so I might be better off buying a rubber strap and sending that back with my watch and doing the exchange. Then fit my old bracelet to the new watch?????

The reply you posted said: "If you purchase Option 1 there is no alternative straps that will fit this piece."

I wonder if they say that, because those bracelets are no longer available?

I would ask them if you can keep your existing bracelet, in order to use it with option #1.

As far as I know your "old" bracelet should fit to option 1, that's what TH told me too, but I've never checked since I went for other option finally.
You should try to test before purchasing. Or maybe someone can confirm.
Btw there was a 40% discount for additional bracelets while exchanging, don't know if it's still valid.
