Just completed my trade in and went with the 46mm. I did the whole thing online and via the repair and customer service center. It was a bit of a clunky process, which included having to call to pay for the upgrade. Was pleasantly surprised when at 10am the next morning FedEx arrived with the new watch. Very happy with it. I’m now left with a charger and an empty box from the original connected.
Congratulations Nigel. I am debating about doing the same thing. Please don't forget to post some pictures of your new watch.

Which one do you like? The 46mm or the 45mm modular?

46mm is my preference, I liked the 45mm when I saw it in store, but like you, I hate the plastic lugs top and bottom.

My only worry is 46mm may be a little large!

The 'caps' on the 45mm modular mechanical piece are better than the ones found on the Connected watch. They have a glossier finish; they look more refined. However, they are still a bit ugly and look a bit out-of-place in my opinion, so I am leaning towards the 46mm option. Nonetheless, I am waiting a few more months to see if they release a 3rd generation Connected, and if they offer this new edition as one of the upgrade options, then I will choose that. Otherwise, I will probably end-up with the 46mm version.

I'm quite interested to see what they release next in the modular range, wether it is compatible with the current range, etc. If the 46 was a 43 or 44 I would definitely buy one. I'm not particularly interested in buying a modular watch given that I will never buy the smart module of tourbillon

Most likely i will be getting the 45mm mechnical module only. Reason is simple, its modular and so i get to change the strap to tge leather whenever i deem fit. Also it seems tag is going towards the modular way of things, hence, modular 45 is more futuristic in my opinion. Since i never use the smart module, i wont be getting the smart module at all.

The 46mm looks great but i dont like the bezel. Its not shiny as the 45mm. 45mm i think its ceremic and 46mm plastic? Other than the lugs there is nothing 'special ' about the 46mm. Dont think the value of the 46mm will go higher because of the words 'specail edition'.

Anyway guys im living in singapore and i cant exchange anything yet. I spoke to tag singapore they said they will check etc but nothing yet since abt a 1 month. Spoke to tag heuer on instagram 18 days ago, giving them my contact info, they kept saying very soon someone will contact me. Nth yet. Very frustrating to see how tag dont value customers.

Any advice guys?
Thanks

Besides not having the "caps", the other advantage I see in the 46mm dial is its brushed finish that is only visible when reflecting light, when compared to the matte dial of the 45mm.

I agree with you that the rest of the design is not as good as the new modular, which makes the selection a bit tricky.

Keep us posted how your trade in develops, along with any other tips for other members of the community who may live in that part of the world.

I have just come back from my AD (I’m in the UK) to go through my upgrade.

I have the connected modular as well so I was undecided wether to go for option 1 (The special edition 46mm watch) or option 2 (the mechanical module with lugs and strap for the Connected modular) only to be told that only option 1 was available and that options 2, 3 and 4 were withdrawn.

Has anybody else been told similar?

It did make my choice easier though 😀 (I had been drawn more to the special edition 46mm mainly because it is ‘special’ and not available to anyone except those with the original Connected and the ‘brush’ dial effect).

I haven't heard anything about this, but I haven't inquired since last year.

It may just be the Boutique that I went to. Seems a strange thing to say though. I did ask if the other options will be coming back and was told that they didn’t think so.

Off to view the watches tomorrow at my local tag boutique.

Still undecided though!

Does anybody think that the limited edition will increase in value? if this is the case I would buy the limited edition and get a cheaper samsung smart watch.

Thanks Bob

Just did my exchange at the Tag Boutique in Manchester. great experience, very helpful. went for option 4 in the end.

no problem here but there does still seem confusion about the whole process with certain shops.

Hello. Ive been following this forum re the connected replacement.

I was lucky to get mine 2 years Nov ago.....from Goldsmiths... I honestly thought the mechanical watch world would have no interest so thought buy one. keep it as an investment...Sadly over 40k sold and now a mark 2!

I heard about the exchange programme and my mind changed. I contacted Goldsmiths end Nov...They called me Dec....Emailed me the doc with the 4 options....Went for option 1 as thought limited edition etc..2.2k total spend. (1.1k for connected / 1,1k for this one).

Picked it up yesterday....I like it...but not sure what to do with it?
They only took the watch and paperwork . The box and charger puck etc I kept.
I have no interest in the connected 2 to be honest...

Do I..
Keep it as an investment?
Sell it now before the market gets flooded?
Im in for 2.2k. What its worth? Tag loose money straight away...but as a limited edition not sure.
What's the bets in a month eBay is flooded?

Wondered what you guys thought?

Im lucky enough to have a few nice watches but not a pure sports watch (if that makes sense!).

A few pics of it below..

It is nice. Very light...

Hello, is the back made of metal?
And is it water ressistant?
Thx
The mechanic modul is half price in germany, so the 45 ceramic incl mechanic would be 2400 euroe option 4 is 2100 so maybe i keep or sell my 46

I would expect to be able to pick up the exchange watch from eBay for about £1500 in a few months. Maybe from a tag outlet in a year or two for similar money.

If you like it and it looks good, wear it, if not stick it up on eBay for £2k and see if anyone buys it. I'm not convinced that modern watches are an investment.

To update you guys. Now Singapore and Malaysia are having the programme at SGD2100 and MYR 6400.
However if you would go for the special edition, it you would have to bring ur watch to tag and they would keep it. Only after 6 weeks you would then recieve the new tag. So weird.

Any expect here could share the value of the tag of the specail edition whether it will drop after getting it etc. If so, i rather get the modular, in that way i get to mix and match my outfit with the strap being accessible.

Value is hard to give, not enough of them around or sold yet to see what the sell for. See my guesses above.

Just to update, it seems that the special edition are hard to sell. Tried asking ard shops in singapore, nobody wants it. Even check online nobody seem to be catching on. Btw am looking for a omega seamaster 300.
Hate it that the special edition does not have a shiny ceremic bezel at all

Anyone here have a lume shot of the special edition?
