I also criticize him, I am a lover of Tudor

But why does it matter, so fifty people are walking around with a Black Bay with some Italian text on the dial, who does it hurt? I don't think Tudor did this for money, fifty would amount to what, £30-40,000 profit?

It would be very interesting that the next limited edition that Tag Heuer did was a reissue of the authentic Jo Siffert, it would be a very interesting model to collect. Maybe we see it in Basel 2018, it would be a wish for me.

First of all, I apologize for my English, I defend the best I can with the language. I am a born collector of watches, among my collection the favorite brands are made up of Rolex, Tudor, Omega and some more. I have the most desired models and I like these brands, Daytonas, GMT, Submariner, in Omega the limited editions that I like the most. yes it is true that Omega sometimes repeats itself or makes some limited edition a bit "bland", but there are some like the Apollo 11 45th anniversary that is mund different in materials and design from the others. in my collection I did not have any Tag Heuer, among other things because I have never liked them. but it was to see the Autavia 85th and I fell in love, a watch very different from what Tag did lately with that vintage look and designed by Jack Heuer, also with a limited edition, which apparently is a bestseller, in Spain and others European countries is already impossible to achieve. In fact I have two, one for the brand new collection and another for daily use. with this I mean that I can not stand the "tuned" editions of a model that for me is perfection, left the factory as its creator Jack Heuer designed it. I stay 100% with my 85th limited edition, which is what its creator did. from here my criticisms to make tuning changes of a magnificent clock. I do not know why Tag Heuer agreed to do this edition for the forum, but I guess it is very easy to take a watch that is already manufactured, change 3 things and easily bill in a day € 500,000. I am sorry for some who do not agree, but it is my opinion as a good watch collector that I am.

If you can't work out why manufacturers collaborate with social media entities to create special editions, then you are not as smart as you make yourself out to be!

I think you need to get back in your box now too. You have expressed your dislike of the model (on numerous occasions), but to continue with your bashing of it is actually an insult to @Calibre11 in my opinion. Also, your so-called perfect version was, itself, a tweak of the standard model, which was not designed by JH.

Also, your English is just fine, we are hearing you loud and clear, perhaps too loudly and too clearly!

I do not criticize anyone who buys it, the only thing I say is that I do not like those editions. each one is free to do what he wants with his money. I have the blue Tudor Black Bay of Bucherer, and it's a wonder of a clock, but it has nothing to do with special forum editions. is a watch that manufactures for a small tudor time, alone, for customers of Bucherer stores, a highly collectible watch.

and for me the best Black Bay is the non-manufactured black, a model that is quoting, since it was only a few months on sale, and has a special charm.

The written word is notoriously difficult to nuance, especially when you are not writing in your own language and we should take that into account.

I think the main problem here is that this is a special model for Calibre 11 (the blog really, not so much the forum I don't think?) which is David's baby. If you had criticised the new Air-K Carrera (for example) which is also a very limited model for the Japanese market then people wouldn't be so upset. You are entitled to your opinion of course, but maybe be mindful of where you are posting it.

As it happens I think David did a fantastic job, but if I thought it was a dog's dinner I'd keep my thoughts to myself.

Estimado @rafabond, your opinion is as valid as everyone else's and I'm glad for the passion/willingness to share it. And your English is fine, probably better than my Spanish ;-) (Hala Madrid!)

First of all, micro-batches of limited edition watches is a key strategy for several brands, especially from groups like Swatch, Richemond and LVHM, so we'll see more of it, not less. Even our beloved Rolex has dipped their toes in the water with issues like the D-Blue Deepsea for James Cameron (not a numbered edition though) and they are clearly doing it all the time with Tudor.

Secondly, I don't pretend to speak for DC - only he can share the true justification and drivers behind this release, but - from what I understand - the goal wasn't to issue an exact replica/reissue of an old Siffert model, but rather to take some of those famous design ques and incorporate it into a modern watch. Personally I think he succeeded above and beyond, and I am really looking forward to wearing this piece.

Happy collecting and namaste!

In F1 Siffert managed to score 68 carreer points and had 100 entries in an F1 race ::rimshot::
We should add this to the significance of the limited run numbers!

Since this wonderful piece of a watch was slightly out my range 🫨 I had to use my beloved TAG Heuer Studio to craft my own little homage watchface on my Connected 46 ::stirthepot::.
And here is the result:

^ HEUER should be in black 😀
I know, but the TAG Heuer Studio App doesn't give this option with this vintage template. So I just had to put up with that. But please don't rub more salt in the wound. ::facepalm1:: 😀

Where do I look to buy one of these watches?
I believe its sold out. I managed to add this watch to my cart on the day of release but I changed my mind and pursue other piece instead.

Correct. I do expect for some people on the Waitlist to get the chance to order. I had to cancel one order today from someone who had already advertised the watch for sale for a +50% premium 🙄

No need to apologise. I can't think of a single watch that's been launched to unanimous praise, so the Siffert Autavia shouldn't be any different.

So long as 100 people love it, then I'm happy. You are always welcome here to post your opinion.
