Could someone of the proud owners possibly help me out?

The tang buckle that came with your watch should be an FC1042 (16mm, Heuer-branded). Could you please:
- Let me know whether the tang is round in diameter or has any other form (flat but large, square-ish, etc.)?
- If you have your calipers handy: the tang’s dimension that a strap’s hole must accommodate (i.e., it’s diameter if the tang was round)?

From the photos I found online for “FC1042” I really cannot tell…

Many thanks in advance 👍

The tang buckle on my Panda has a slightly different part number, FC1042 FL-B1. This is what's on the back of it. But it came with the strap, so not sure if that's the specific reference. I've previously ordered FC1042 from a Boutique, which is for the older models, such as the 90s re-editions. It has a "B" on the back of it.

While the two are nearly identical, with the inner width measuring 16.1mm on both, the outer length of the Panda's buckle is slightly longer at 14.7mm in length. The older one is 14.5mm. The shape of the tang or pin on both is the nearly the same, more flat on the underside, rounded on top. The width being 1.7mm on both.

Fantastic @Mspeedster - I’m so grateful 👍

Interesting that there’s been a slight edit in the reference number. I’ll try to find out whether the two still co-exist or whether the newer one has replaced the older one.

Bit late to the party but I managed to snag this 60th Anniversary Carrera from a bloke I coincidently met in a pub. Very pleased that he let me have it for slightly less than the full retail price - a real bargain when he explained that the misprinted dial would add to its future value. After a week of wearing it I popped back into the pub to thank him, but he wasn’t to be seen, and the regulars said they haven’t seen him since. I guess I was just lucky that day.

It is indeed, and thank you kindly. I’ll try and capture it in a better photo and post in the appropriate forum.

Hey folks, I finally took delivery of the panda, #142, it came all the way from the US and in near unworn condition. I think the strap is perfect for it too
