Does the darkness of the subdials not impact on the perceived shade of the dial?
I believe that may be a factor as well as the indices and the way they reflect light being polished and flat.

Yes, but there's also something in the silver that the sunray effect brings out, making it look more grey at certain angles under certain lighting. I am beginning to pick up on it more now. However, under different lighting, I'm seeing a cream tone quite a bit that can sometimes make the dial look like a light champagne silver. It's like Anthony said, the look of the silver can change depending on the light and viewing angle. It's part of what makes this dial such a beauty to me. I'm sure the Silver 160th is similar that way, it's no wonder so many of you love it. 👍

Congrats to everyone who bought one, I'm glad no one got left out after you've all waited so long to get hold of it. And of course thanks to Charlie for writing his 'First Impressions' post for me. 👍

Post goes live on Monday.

Going back to bracelet options, while I think the Uncle Straps BoR looks great, I'm still hesitant about having to reshape the end-links to get a nice flush fit with the lugs. I tried experimenting with a spare set of 19mm US hollow end-links (that I had for my Speedy FOIS) on my Dato and wasn't satisfied with the results.

One thing I noticed in the Revolution Watch video is that Wei Koh is wearing his Blue Dreamer with the Forstner BoR bracelet. I had dismissed this option before as it doesn't mimic the GF BoR found on the vintage Carreras. But after seeing it in the video, it's starting to grow on me. Plus it should be just a simple plug and play swap.

Thoughts?

Good detective work. It will probably look fine, but as you say, it's not really a beads of rice bracelet. Plus I have a bit of a dislike of third-party bracelets. The ones I've had in the past have let the watches down a little bit in terms of quality and finishing.

Very interesting. So between the 60th and the Historique, which one is lighter? The Historique looks very light from what I recall. I'd love to see a pic of all 3 side by side.

You could be right that the Historique is the lightest shade of silver of the three. Here is a pic of them together along with previously posted wrist shots (which will obviously involve different lighting). I was also wondering if the Titan appears darker to me simply because of the case shape and larger area provided to the dial.

Beautiful trio! Thanks for the pics! The Titan appears to have the deepest looking sunray grains, perhaps that's the contributing factor. The case shape probably plays a part, but the Titan and Historique have very similar cases.

Direct from TH CEO Frederic Arnault, CBK221H is the final (and 10th) iteration of the “glassbox” 39mm Carrera reissue. Further, Arnault said future vintage Carrera products are planned to be only “vintage inspired,” and not largely authentic reproductions like the glassbox series - sounds like Wei Koh got a sneak peak (under embargo).

Thank you, but oh no, no no no, no way. There is only one King @Hubert!
Speaking of King Hubert, I thought he would've gotten his Panda King(s) yesterday like many of us. Hope he's ok.

A late delivery for me, but still made it in time for a happy #tHEUERsday!

I'm just starting to soak in this watch, but my initial impression is WOW!
In person, the dial is the best part. It doesn't look steel grey to my eyes, as it appears in some photos. It's just perfect for me!
Number 338 is now officially in the house. 😁

Wow, guys, I am a bit late to the party and very envious of all who nabbed one these.
As with all watches under 42mm, I can't wear them on my wrists, so didn't chase this.

It's a beautiful piece and Mspeedster, seeing it next to the Dato, which I think is one of the standout watches of the past few years, they make the most perfect couple.
Congrats to all who managed to get one, keep those pics coming MS as you have a way with the camera and the setting of the shot that catches the essence of the watch perfectly.

Well done guys, dreams do come true.

👍

Awesome collection right there.
Congrats on the latest classic.
