Welcome to the forum @Ges!
The more people who message Uncle Straps directly asking for a Gay Freres style double grain BoR bracelet, the better chance we have of building a case.

However, my Forstner BoR bracelet arrived today. I'm pretty happy with it. Gives a vintage vibe and seems well made.
I've put it on my Carrera Dato for now.

I also think it will look great on the Panda. Placed it over the OEM rally strap to give an idea of how it will look.

Just got mine yesterday. Was seriously considering a jlc or iwc - so this was an unexpected purchase. Absolutely stunning piece!

Edit: Oh, I guess you mean why TAG sent them to the boutiques rather than sell them online. I am not sure about that. But my feeling is they could have sold more, more quickly, if they'd made them available online. I also guess they needed to ensure each boutique got one at least. Otherwise the boutiques (and WoS) wouldn't be very happy. Difficult to get the balance right I guess.

Yes, the boutiques get tetchy if they don't get them, for sure. TAG didn't send them to the boutiques, the boutiques are owned by WOS. It is difficult with these releases cos the boutiques want them for their sales figures, but obviously it would be a whole lot easier to just put them all online and sell them out. Like you say they have to keep the boutiques happy too..

If TAG are sending watches to WoS, then they're effectively sending them to the boutiques. This was a boutique (and TH online) only release.

I mean WOS buy so many from TAG, they then decide what goes to which boutiques - largely dependent on interest and pre orders.
The watch is on their website, though I don't know if it was available to buy there or not, but Maxine said she didn't know how many were going to the boutiques and how many were being held back to sell online (by WOS). I don't recall it saying 'Online Exclusive' on the TAG website, but maybe I didn't notice?

I don't mean to labour the point, but WoS are not allowed to sell via the website. They can put the watch on there to help market it, but they're not allowed to conduct an online sale. You have to contact them in order to buy. Also, I don't know this for sure, but I suspect that as part of the contract WoS has to operate Tag boutiques, that it is TAG that decides how many watches they will get and where they will go.

Oh go on! 😁

You may very well be right about them not being able to actually sell them on the website, I don't know cos I didn't look at it when the watch was available - I'm guessing you did since you were looking everywhere.

But I was told that WOS get so many and then the boutiques submit requests depending on customer interests, then the area managers of WOS decide who gets them (rathe than TAG directly), and as you know that depends on previous history. That's what I was told anyway.
