Yeah, I just meant that I've used the chrono on my Dato a lot and have had no trouble with it resetting correctly. But now I'm a bit hesitant to do the same on my 60th.

Anyway, glad you got yours to reset straight again, fingers crossed it's not a reoccurring problem on yours. Or if it does happen again, that the same workaround can cure it as well.

@Mspeedster my issue was the hour hand went out of sync. When setting the time the hour hand all of a sudden started moving instead of the minute hand. They replaced the movement. I have not had chronograph issues like the others. I run it all the time.

Thanks @thingziliketoo & @Jemagloh, your issues (at least the ones sent in for servicing) are different from @abrod520's.

This gave me a bit more confidence to use the chrono on my 60th. Timed a few things, then kept it running for over 2 hours. Works perfectly, so far so good! (Knocks on wood yet again & again.)

I got the following response back from Uncle Straps about the possibility of a custom end-link to fit our glassbox Carreras:

Those are really nice watches and I would love to make something for them in the future. Can you give me an idea of how popular these are? I really can't do anything custom, but if I become convinced that there is a widespread need concerning some brand or model, I might be able to invest the money necessary to make it a permanent product. The amount of investment is high, and I always have to start by buying two examples of the watch in question and that can get expensive right off the bat. So I'm just curious if you know how great of a need it really is.

I replied that these watches never came with a bracelet and a recreation of the Gay Freres double grain BoR would be of high interest to many owners. I also likened to the situation as being similar to that of the Speedmaster FOIS, Omega's re-issue of ref CK2998, which also never came with a bracelet. I included the H02 case reference numbers: CBK221A, CBK221B, CBK221C, CBK221D, CBK221F, CBK221G, CBK221H, but also let him know about the older glassbox models.

We'll see what happens from here. But perhaps if he hears from others about the need, it might convince him further.

I got the following response back from Uncle Straps about the possibility of a custom end-link to fit our glassbox Carreras:

8 in the group, of the Panda, not the WOS. They are in boutiques... probably not online. Sheffield had one, they've sold it. It depends though as some of these may have deposits on them.

OK, so Goldsmiths have 19 TH boutiques across the UK I think (according to Google). I'd previously been told they'd been allocated 1 watch for each store. So that means 11 have sold their watch, and 8 have one left. (I got offered it by 3 of them by the way - was first on all their lists! But of course I'd already purchased online via the TH website - which is still sold out).

Do the UK Boutiques have a grace period for returns, like when you buy on-line?

I wonder how many flippers have started to return theirs, since we're probably getting close to the end of the grace period. Seems like a good time to keep an eye out for anyone in the world who missed out initially.

I see 6 for sale on Chrono24 now. From £7000 (US) to £10771 (Aus)! There is one in the UK for £8495 (dropped by £500 since first posting).(RRP here was £6100).

Legal period for returns of online purchases in the UK is 14 days. I don't know if TH offer a longer grace period.

I see, so the return policy for on-line is a UK government thing. I don't know if such a policy exists in the US. I see that TAG Heuer on-line purchases are returnable (don't know the grace period). But for Boutiques, only in-store credit is given if an unworn item is returned within 30 days.

It's known as the distance selling regulation. Applies to anything bought new sight unseen (e.g. over phone or web). Doesn't apply to private second-hand sales though, e.g. eBay.

Under their contract with TAG, they won't be allowed to sell them over the web. Tag has exclusivity on that.

Edit: Oh, I guess you mean why TAG sent them to the boutiques rather than sell them online. I am not sure about that. But my feeling is they could have sold more, more quickly, if they'd made them available online. I also guess they needed to ensure each boutique got one at least. Otherwise the boutiques (and WoS) wouldn't be very happy. Difficult to get the balance right I guess.
