Actually... what colour does spring to mind when you think of Porsche?

Love the stack of books on Patrick Dempsey's table.

I’m just missing Drive Time 😁

I'm excited that two of my favourite brands are venturing into a partnership, although such an endeavour is always risky. I expect this watch to sell well among the 44mm and modern Porsche crowd. I can imagine Porsche Design may not be so pleased. They manufacture great chronographs themselves.
No information at all of what the partnerships entails apart from this release. "Decades" according to Arnault. 10 years is a lifetime in business and certainly in partnerships.
A TAG Heuer 911 special edition would be nice to see. The various motorsport sponsorships are obvious. Perhaps TAG Heuer taking over the watch division of Porsche Design altogether? A vintage inspired Heuer x Porsche chronograph? Porsche are, more than TAG Heuer so, very active in maintaining their heritage with their Porsche Classic division. So who knows.
An old school appreciation of the partnership:

Agree..”decades” would be amazing.

btw, there is no ownership connection between Porsche and Porsche Design, so I think PD will continue. They make some cool chronographs

Porsche Design was bought by Porsche years ago. Some of their watches are only available to buyers of certain Porsche special edition models.

I tried venturing to Porsche Design watches before but somehow, I see too many other items or design products and kept me confused about the brand 😕 Is it truly a watch company or is it a design company that so happens to design a watch among alot of other things? (shoes, apparel, bags, accessories etc) Remember the time when TAG Heuer was almost like this, selling alot of non-watch stuff before and people called TAG Heuer a “lifestyle fashion brand” somehow hurt TAG Heuer’s reputation?

I honestly don’t think Porsche Design can actually
compete with the mainstream Swiss watch companies such as TAG Heuer so I do believe this “strategic” partnership between Porsche & TAG Heuer is the way to go 👍 I’m actually happy about this, more than the watch release. Somehow the partnership makes perfect sense from a historical and business POV 😉

Porsche Design was founded by FA Porsche after he left Porsche. He was a product designer and wanted to create products that embodied his minimalist but sporty design spirit that was so prevalent during his work at Porsche. His first design was the Orfina chronograph, only available through Porsche dealerships, so the bridges with Porsche were certainly not burned. This was the first all black chronograph ever and inspired the many '70s chronographs that followed, including Heuer's Montreal, Carrera, Monza, etc. It remained an indepent luxury lifestyle goods company until bought by Porsche decades later.

Porsche Design make some hilariously expensive watches, there was one in Bicester Village that was reduced to about £125,000 or something... I bet they tank their value like HELL.
