In my mind, the previous effort, the Carrera Fragment was a hit with TH/Heuer enthusiasts,

because it was the closest thing to a 60s 2447nt Carrera. https://www.calibre11.com/vintage-heuer-carrera-2447nt/

And not because of Fujiwara's association or "design" elements. At least, outside of Japan where his fanbase could've made all the difference.

So close, yet so far. No dial markers make the Fragment look so much more bloated than it really is

Indeed. This could have been so much better with some minor tweaks, especially with some better proportioned subdials.

A good change from other stuff which is just old watches reissued with the most minor of changes.
This is a very good point!

I doubt we'll ever see Jeff here to comment on his choice, but maybe it just reflects that "new watch" enthusiasm...would be interesting to know if he still felt the same way after the gloss had worn off.

Personally, I don't see it with this one. I don't like the flat black dial that doesn't give any delineation between the dial and the registers. I'm not sure it would make my top 20.
It’s not even the best Tag Heuer Auatavia, let alone chronograph. The CY series is A LOT better imo.

That is odd, it is still available for the original new price on the TH website.

The watch does look really good in those photos!
I've got conflicting feelings on this watch. Sometimes it looks awesome, but other times it doesn't.
Wow those photos looked great.

Ordered..
Deposit paid , on hold until I get to pick it up.
May be a while as it involves a plane ride, and passport and there ain’t a lot of that going on recently.
Will let you know how I go and provide some feedback on it , in the metal.
There doesn’t seem to be an enormous amount of love for this watch in the Forum , although I think most of the neg has been around the price as opposed to an actual dislike of the design.
It just resonated with me, and that’s all that matters to me.

Thanks Jim, I’ll try and catch it’s essence as best I can and you are too kind with your words on my photography skills.

@Mspeedster -As you mentioned in a comment in another thread, I think the big 44mm size will suit my oversized wrists.
According to my AD, who knows me well..... maybe better than I do myself, told me that the bracelet is a step above the new Monaco one.
Hope she is right.

congrats! And indeed. And the rest of us all have opinions. None of which matter more than yours. If it sings to you that’s all that counts really. Good luck with the patience exercise and enjoy in good health once you and it lands 👍
