I think @heuerholic got the last one mate. 😉

I think you might be right. Good Memory.
Don’t have it in my possession yet though, but you can be sure I’ll show it off when I do👍

Hmm... not the australian one, says Out of Stock
The best way to generate interest is to take it off the market 😀

Nice Sunday morning read, thanks DC!
Overall a good design. I rather like the modern flat dial and red contrasts. I’ve never seen one in the metal though. There’s a lot of bespoke stuff in this watch for that limited run, including the bracelet, which is the nicest F1 bracelet to date imo.
I like that they used the Autavia inspired F1 case for a heritage inspired piece, however it’s not as nice as the ‘70s original. 44mm rules out my wrist in any case.
Love the red caseback. The crown is an eyesore though.
The watch is nice enough, ups and downs, like so many other TAG Heuers, re-editions or not. It’s not a great one. In fact has there ever been a great one? The glassbox series are nice, so are the Mcqueen Monacos, but they’re not great, let alone perfect, like so many Heuer classics. Watches that take your breath away when you see them in the metal. TAG Heuer seens stretched between the purist heritage and luxury mall watch demand, even with their LEs. I see DCs Vintage Heuer post about the 4th exec dial of the 2446 Autavia and wonder how hard can it be. It’s right there in the archives: perfection.

I like it 👍 But I would have wanted this to be TAG Heuer only and not a collaboration 😉 Fujiwara doesn’t connect to me with TAG Heuer and Formula 1 😗

...a bit late off the mark with a review of this one, but here it is. As you can read, I spent most of my time with the watch trying to work out whether I liked the dial or not. Still not sure 😀

This watch doesn't do much for me, although I kind of like that they did something different and used vintage Autavia design cues. The fact you can still buy new following a restricted supply of only 500 pieces probably says a lot about how they priced this one. Too expensive for what it is if you ask me.

I doubt we would ever see him say anything other than good things about Tag now.

Definitely too expensive.

Just not convinced, the red back is different? But I think I need markers or numbers on the face, didn’t look at the cost not relevant if I’m not buying.

I still can't believe that this piece is Jeff Steins favourite Tag Chrono EVER..

I think Jeff means well, but yeah he’s become a bit of a cheerleader for TAG these past ~2 years

Your review matches my feelings on this watch. I’ve been very conflicted ever since its release. Beautiful pics btw, some of them really make me want to get this watch!

l found the Carrera Porsche much more impressive in person, I suspect the same might be the case for the Fragment F1 as well.

It's the price that kills this F1. Had it been a different line, the price wouldn't be as hard to swallow.

Thanks @Yago

I think what I found hard about this one is that I always had the original Autavia in my head whenever I looked at the watch- I wonder how someone who didn’t know of the original Autavia would feel about the watch?

The size is an issue for me- but I’ve come to the view that the “insiders” (us) will never agree with the general watch buying public on case size. There’s only one reason that TAG Heuer make large watches…because that’s what the vast. Majority of their customer base wants!

The price of this one wouldn’t have stopped me if I really loved it- lots of unique touches in the design (e.g. bracelet)

I don't think the size would bother me that much, it's not all that far off the 3rd-gen Autavia (though I'm sure it's thicker). I'm hoping they do a few more F1s with the H02, with dial markers for a change!

Yes, the naming of the watch is another point of conflict for me too. It does make spending that amount of coin for what's perceived as an entry level line a bit harder. But if I had really loved the watch, I don't think being an F1 would've stopped me.

Perhaps they should've named it the Fragment F1 Autavia. If they can have a Carrera Montreal, why not?

If they had done that, wouldn't some people have criticized them for selling an F1 as an Autavia to justify the price?

It’s all conflict and disruption in my opinion. 😗

Call it Autavia - people will say “it’s not a true Autavia”

Call it Formula1 - people will say “it’s too expensive for F1”

Call if Fragment - people will say “what’s it got to do with F1/Autavia”

You really can’t please everyone 😜
If you like it and has the cash to get it, then GO 👍
