Just trying to pull a leg 😜 Make things fun & exciting 😉

We could all use a good humour and some smile today 😁

BTW, I’m a big fan of the Corolla AE86 & Initial D!
Own both a Toyota Corolla & a Toyota 86 🥰🥰
My wife's first car when she got out of college was the original AE86. She got it used, but it was just like Takumi Fujiwara's, a white & black panda sport hatchback. By coincidence, I used to own a '93 FD3S RX-7, like the one Keisuke Takahashi drove. But mine was red, not yellow. This was all before "Initial D" and the "JDM drifting craze", our cars were long gone by the time I learned about Initial D. Both cars are probably worth a lot more today compared to how much we sold them for. LOL

Wow, very high praise from @on_the_dash! https://www.instagram.com/p/CC7eSbtHvqu/

"Awesome -- 12 hours after arrival, my favorite TAG Heuer chronograph, ever . . . and even though you won't see the name on the watch, the best looking Autavia-inspired chronograph, ever."

He said favourite Tag Heuer chrono rather than favourite Heuer chrono, which I presume is a deliberate distinction.

Yes of course but still I was also surprised that he liked it so much

Technically speaking, our modern "Heuer" branded heritage watches are TAG Heuer. So taken literally, it means he likes it better than the Carrera 160 pair or any recent Autavia or perhaps even any post-TAG chrono. Regardless of the statement's intent, he really likes it a lot! 😲

For me, I'm just not "feeling" this watch. Maybe it's something that needs to be experienced in person. 😕

Yes, Jeff says it's his favorite TAG chrono, not Heuer. And it is an important distinction.

However, he was also very enthusiastic about the Heuer-01 skeleton back when it was released, so I dunno if his endorsement is necessarily setting a high standard there 😝

I could understand that he said that it’s his favorite TAG Heuer Formula 1 ever, mainly due to its movement... but the best TAG Heuer chronograph ever? 😵‍💫 I certainly do not agree... even counting just the “TAG Heuer” branded and not the Heuer, there are many TH chronographs I would choose before the F1 Fragment. Just a few examples:

I doubt we'll ever see Jeff here to comment on his choice, but maybe it just reflects that "new watch" enthusiasm...would be interesting to know if he still felt the same way after the gloss had worn off.

Personally, I don't see it with this one. I don't like the flat black dial that doesn't give any delineation between the dial and the registers. I'm not sure it would make my top 20.

Nice pick and tastefully curated selection sir @Albert-AMG 👍

I’t a nice modern Formula 1, probably one of the nicest design since it heavily borrows from a known Viceroy Autavia. But the Fragment isn’t really for me. I just can’t see the connection for me or it’s kinda mute to me so to speak 🙄

That’s just me but I can always appreciate a nice design/package even if I know it isn’t meant for me 😉

I also appreciate that OTD’s Jeff Stein likes the Formula 1 Fragment, same as his Carrera Fragment. It means we are seeing some Heuer Heritage and TAG Heuer elements on the mix which speaks well for the creative side of TH. 😀

If he likes the Fragment F1 over the Carrera Heuer 01 skeleton, then he's clearly impaired to some degree!

In my mind, the previous effort, the Carrera Fragment was a hit with TH/Heuer enthusiasts,
Carrera-Fragment-Fujiwara_Front-Alligator.jpg
because it was the closest thing to a 60s 2447nt Carrera. https://www.calibre11.com/vintage-heuer-carrera-2447nt/

And not because of Fujiwara's association or "design" elements. At least, outside of Japan where his fanbase could've made all the difference.
Agree - I'd never heard of Fujiwara until this watch came out and don't really understand the idolisation and premiums asked because of celebrity designers. I do like the watch, though. Obviously it would be better if it was more like the 2447 😀

Agree with Jeff, big winner, love the minimalist design even better than the original Viceroy and other ones it's taken design elements from. Looks back and forward at the same time, very hard to straddle that line. A good change from other stuff which is just old watches reissued with the most minor of changes. Just my opinion.

Agree on you sir! I’d think that those who are connoisseurs and collecters of vintage Heuers would probably have a hard time appreciating modern TAG Heuer watches in general, so to speak highly of this Fragment Formula 1 reflects a certain degree of amazement & surprise 😀 Good chap! 👍
