Hello All,

I am about to purchase the 2020 All black Titanium case version (SGB8A80)

Does anybody know if a black Metal/Titanium strap is/will be available for the 2020 Black Ceramic Bezel - SGB8A80
or if any other Tag Heuer black matte metal bracelet would nicely fit on it? Or any other black titanium brand for that
matter?

Attached is a copy of my Fossil Gen 5 with a Stainless Steel Metal strap. Strap is rather nice (22mm) but not in any way up to par with the Tag Heuer.

Thanks!

Stay safe.
Pierre.
Hi Pierre (from France?), and welcome!

We hope TH will offer -in the future- a black titanium bracelet to match the black titanium version of Gen3, but at the moment only the stainless steel bracelet is available... 🤔

Because of the Gen3 quick release system for the straps/bracelets, only the specific and original Gen3 bracelet will fit there, unless you are brave enough as @TAG GUY and you brake the original bars of your Gen3 and put standard springbars (he explains it here: https://forums.calibre11.com/thread...ected-discussions.110885/page-17#post-1466250 ). Then you would be able to put any standard 22mm strap... but the bracelet is much more made to measure to fit in the case, so I don’t know if any 22mm bracelet would fit there... for sure it would be better if TH launches the black bracelet for Gen3! 👍

Not sure you will be able to put that Band on to a Connected as it has the Quick Release.

The new Connected uses straps with easy Quick Release taken from the new Autavia Calibre 5. The Carrera Heuer 01 that you are showing here has fixed straps. So, no, I don't believe that you can use this strap on a Connected.
Also we don't know with which blue hue the hypothetical blue Connected will come. It may be a different blue hue from the blue of this strap.

This is a very nice watchband though. Would love to see TH bringing out a version that fits the Gen 3

Fixed strap means? I believe you are talking about fixed with pins and not easily removable with a click but it's ok as we can use some tool for the same.
But yes, blue hue is a concern here.
Anyways, it is not released here in India, so in between, I can only assume different possiblities 😀

No, I mean that the end parts of the strap do not fit in any other watch. They are specifically designed to the lugs of the Carrera.

If you modify your watch like I did, yes this strap should fit. The only question is will the radius ends match up. Every strap that I have had on the watch so far has fit.

I still haven't had the Balls to modify my Watch Band yet.. Partly due to the fact I don't have another Genuine Tag 22mm Strap.

Having trouble finding somewhere I can purchase in Australia. Boutiques are all closed here and Non Essential travel is prohibited.

Any tips on Reputable places online that I can try?

Regards
Anthony

Hi,

Can anyone explain how the AOD is meant to work?

If you set screen brightness to auto, looks like the AOD takes the settings of whatever full screen was before going to AOD. ie you're indoors at night, full screen is fairly dim & when aod kicks in it is also dim. This means going from indoors to outdoors the aod is unreadable seeing as it's so dim.

On the flip side, if you go for manual brightness, it definitely makes the aod brighter, but then sunlight boost doesn't work so full screen is unreadable when you go outside!

Is this just a design flaw or is my watch faulty?

I would read through the thread as it has been covered. But I will say it's either a software issue, or the Chinese sensors that are installed are inferior.

I think that, if the screen in auto mode and "on" status reacts to the ambient light, it's more likely a software issue. I could imagine that it is even not a bug but deliberate decision in an effort to keep the AOD status as frugal as possible. Probably it's an effort to claim improvement in battery life over the previous generation.
Actually there is another possible explanation. I am just noticing that the AOD status of my Fossil Sport with Snapdragon 3100 is a lot dimmer than the AOD status of my Connected Modular 45 with Intel processor. Maybe it is a light intensity script that comes with the 3100.
