I literally just got my Black TI Version.
First impressions: the packaging is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUCH MORE then i thought it will be. with that being said, the packaging just SCREAMS premium, honestly the packaging alone is impressive.

On to the watch: So glad i waited for the black version, it is gorgeous... the pictures do NOT do it justice, it is stunning....
ok, i took pictures for you guys, now i am going to turn it on for the first time 😀
Congrats.. Looks awesome..

Anyone who have the gen3 figured out if/how can we link the tag heuer sports app with Google fit, strava, etc?

What I did was bought a smartplug and programing to activate the charger from 5:00 am to 7:00 am. Everyday.
WOW
what a load of crap from TH... "Dont leave in charge"... how the hell a person can set a normal routine, if he cant even wake up to a fully charged watch.
i think that was a defect they "maybe" fixed.
personally never had the issue, i would NOT expect something like this to ever be an issue. TH cant expect to ask customers to NOT leave on charger for more then 2 hours.
what, if i get home late, tired i have to charge my watch and put an alarm clock to wake up in 2 hours to remove it only to wake up to a not fully charged watch lol

How do I get those wachtfaces?

The screen has the same 1.39 inches from Gen2 M45, so the advantage is just the better resolution (326ppi Gen3 vs 287ppi Gen2 M45). BTW, Gen2 M41 is also 326ppi like Gen3, in a -obviously smaller- 390x390 screen.

But both M45 and M41 have AMOLED screen, which is supposedly better (and more expensive) than the just OLED Gen3 screen, so the screen advantage is then not so relevant

So from your answer I understand there’s no Always On Display difference between Gen3 and Gen2, except for a better resolution vs M45 (not vs M41)

About the Autavia and Monaco watchfaces on the Connected... yes, you are right, the TH Connected (mostly Gen1 and Gen2, with direct Carrera 45mm design) is in fact a Carrera Connected, so being purists, we only should wear Carrera watchfaces... but on the other hand, as only Carrera Connected exists and there are no Monaco Connected, Autavia Connected... I think the all three Gen of THC are legitimated to wear any TH/Heuer face, just for fun 😀

But here some pictures with Carrera watchfaces (AOD on, dimmed mode) for our pace of mind 😉

If you already have the WatchMaker app installed in your phone and in your watch (you need a Premium account, only one payment, you don’t need any monthly subscription), then you can visit our thread about watchfaces and you will find many of them. Maybe it’s better to start from the last page because some of the watchfaces have been updated, so that way you can download just the last version:

https://forums.calibre11.com/thread...ces-which-watch-face-are-wearing-today.34319/

Info about how to use WatchMaker here, or in the app:

So I've decided to abandon this watch for a bit. The hardware is nice, TAG did a decent job on build quality and styling as expected. Although the software is terrible. This is really Google's fault, although TAG desperately needs to fix the AOD brightness like they did on the 45, driving me crazy. An also TAG really dropped the ball with no speaker.

It's just after using the Garmin Marq, wear OS is laughable in comparison. Horrible battery life, no sleep tracking, fitness suite is a joke, etc. Wear OS does have some strong points, but not enough. I hope with a major wear OS overhaul, fitness features won't be crap and the battery can last at least 3 days. I really hope Google gets their act together and actually tries to compete with Garmin, Samsung and Apple. Until then this watch will be sitting on the charger. Good luck all!

To take pictures if it. Here's what I had when I did my review of G1 vs G2.

OK, there’s no problem either for Gen2 to lay fully horizontal for this kind of picture! 😉

Gen3 price is not lower at all than Gen2:
Gen2 titanium case and rubber strap: 1400€

I cannot recall 1400 Euro being the price point for that model when it came to the market.

Yes, 1400€ was the starting price for the Modular 45 with titanium case and steel bezel (I have the official Trade Catalog 2017-2018 with the full price list).

For the titanium case and black ceramic bezel version, price was 1650€

Sorry to hear you dislike your new purchase.
I'm still quite happy with my watch.
May I ask what it is about the AOD that you don't like?
Mine is bright enough in that mode that I don't have to turn my wrist to see the time. When I was in store to purchase I did notice very poor AOD and mentioned it to sales person.
But on the purchased model I don't have this problem.

Cheers

AOD vs Disabled AOD and tilt to wake up....
i have NEVER turned on AOD since my tag gen 1 where it killed the battery by at least 20% throughout the day.
Those running AOD on Gen3, have u seen ANY decrees in battery life due to it enabled?

I have AOD always enabled.
Have has Gen 3 for 6 days.
Each day I'm getting better battery life while using it very similarly.
Yesterday off charger at 6.35am back on charger at 11.20pm with 32% battery left.
I have stopped playing with it more during the day as I now feel I have my head around how to use it.

Today I will disable AOD and get back to you with results.

Cheers

It's not that I dislike the purchase, just wish the software was better. Tag won't be coming out with a new watch for at least 3 years, so I know it will eventually get better, not gonna sell or return it. My AOD is super dim, almost not readable. I'm surprised to hear that yours is better, maybe different software update?

AOD will always eat battery. Although the gen 3 less than on a gen 1 or 2 as the 3100 chip has a provision for AOD low power mode.

Your watch has a problem, my AOD is perfect, I don’t need to wake it up to see the time.

Better or worse compared to your 45?

Here is a picture. Same watch face on both the 45 and gen 3. Gen 3 is alot darker, and in person is even darker than the picture. Not to mention both watches have the same face, and the 45 is more detailed. Even the marq has better AOD. Is mine defective?
