the only 69-79 left in Chrono24 of € 11,000 is already booked and the gray of € 9,900 also. The four reds are not sold since they put the ads. Red has little success.

What I learned from my boutique: there is no box set. A collector has to individually source each special edition watch. And then pay again to acquire one of the 50 presentation set boxes that will also be available. They must assemble their own "box set" piece by piece.

Been told this morning direct from TAG that there is 50 box sets coming later this year, but all UK stock has been pre-sold.

What's the price of the box set?

I was told that it has a premium of almost 8 Grand US over the combined price of the 5 individual pieces. So, we are looking at approximately 40 Grand US.

Cheers.

I'm a little surprised that the gray one on chrono24 is already reserved, because there's one on ebay asking for less. They're all overpriced IMHO, but if people are buying them then that's the market I guess.

Thanks. That's quite a premium, but perhaps worth it to collectors who want to be sure to have all 5 watches and a special box set that's limited to 50. If I were to try and rationalize it, the premium equates to $1500-1600 per watch, not too bad when one considers what the watches are currently reselling for in the aftermarket.

I wonder with the box set if you also get each of the 5 individual boxes for each of the watches ?

Good question, I was wondering if people think these will be a good investment.

I was a little late on these but have picked up the X,Y,Z models but have been offered a box set as well. Would you buy the box set to keep aside if you could?

Or over time should I try to buy the missing two

With the box set I could the wear the X,Y,Z singles?

First post.
Welcome NZmicro...good to see a few Kiwis here (I'm based in Auckland).

I certainly intend to wear mine...if it gains value great, but I'd never recommend buying a watch for that reason.

TAG Heuer confirmed to me that the 169 includes the 50 that are set aside for the box set, so it is a total of 845 watches

So the people that bought the box set have to wait until all watches have been revealed?

Seems like it, but I suppose that makes sense, otherwise Instagram would be flooded with pictures of watches that were still under embargo... wouldn't it.

My thought was that people that purchased the box set would be provided each watch upon reveal and then the box at the end.

Oh yes, I see what you mean... yeah, that would be a bit annoying!

That makes sense and its better for the buyers, but would've entailed more overhead and bookkeeping by TH.

I suppose TH will have the box sets pre-packaged and sent as complete sets. A simpler method on their side of things, albeit annoying for impatient customers who bought the set way in advance. They probably won't get them until very close to the end of the year, unless
"Z" is revealed very shortly after "Y".

Also, if there is a 6th Monaco coming this year (as in "J"), it won't likely be officially announced until after "Z", which may be close to year end as well. My hunch is that "J" might not be an official Monaco 50 watch, but perhaps just a new LE of some kind.

As I understand J is a limited edition of 1000 coming out after the Z. Metal bracelet rumoured. Haven't seen photos.

CBL2111 is the calibre12 replacement (photos can been found through google).

I see Swiss Watches Direct are selling it for £3750 even though it hasn't been announced. They are the same bunch who are selling the Green Aquaracer WAY2015...

A: they need a serious telling off.
B: what is that bottom third “dial” all about....

Aaah yes I remember that we saw K and L after Basel, still a bit uncertain about what I think about those dials... my AD "eriksonurhandel" actually posted that photo on Instagram again just 4 days ago, wonder if they were not supposed to...
