I'm intrigued to see this piece in the metal.
As mentioned before, the Vids above with Patrick and Mr Bianchi showed the watch off well and if it "shines" like I think it might then I will have regret in my bones for not getting one.
In any case, welcome to the Monaco family , you certainly chose a significant piece to start your journey.

·I too, like Remo, have jumped in with my first Monaco purchase with the 69-79 50th Anniversary edition.
My dealer notified me today that they should have it over the weekend for me to collect.
Was looking at purchasing a Monaco towards the end of last year and then read on these good forums about the 50th Anniversary editions coming out so decided to wait to see if I could snag one and thankfully I could. Excited to finally be a part of the ‘Monaco’ gang to go along with my other Tag’s

more than € 1,000 of surcharge is not bad, I bought it with a good discount for being a good customer of my AD, so lose do not think I lose with this piece.

·I think what only comes through in off centre angle photos, but much more in the Vids is what seems (to my eyes anyway) more texture and depth in the stripes than is apparent at first view on a perpendicular shot of the face. Is that the case ‘in real life’?

·Lucky you; in the US I have never been able to get a TH Boutique discount, however I have gotten nice "extras / gifts" with my purchases.
It must vary from country to country then. I have always got a discount in the boutique but never any freebies. Of course to expect a discount and a freebie would be greedy and the discounts suit me just fine 😀.

·My AD in Barcelona is a distributor of several brands, being a good buyer I always have good discounts on watches, well, in Rolex de SS sports there are no discounts. in Spain there is only one Tag Heuer Boutique (own store of the brand) and there are no discounts, as in all the brands' boutiques.

I was referring to the TAG Heuer Boutique not a multi-brand 'boutique' (shop).

Getting a discount on an Authorized Dealer is pretty simple; just ask and be willing to bargain a bit.
