For having handled the “Viceroy-Horner” (See? I'm learning…) in real life, I can confirm that the bezel dwarfs the dial and destroys the vintage feel (At least for me).

For comparison: This looks already so much more balanced, IMHO, while still using the same base insert:
The comparison is not fair, because the Viceroy you show is a render and the Orange Boy is a real photo, and in this case the render does not help (as is often the case), but I understand what you mean.

This other comparison, real photo vs real photo, is more representative of both bezels, and the difference is not as big as when compared to the render.

Aesthetically I would also prefer to have the Tachy on the bezel of my (“Horner/Dempsey”) CBE2110, but I understand that to make a faithful reinterpretation of the 1963 “Rindt” Autavia they should also keep its 1-12 bezel

Wish that one was in the TH outlets over here in the US!

Ironic, since this was a US only model...

The bezel is just too large for it to be a 2446 Rindt. However, I now consider the new Autavia to be more like the 2446 Transitional models. Bezel is closer to that one, though still probably 1mm too large.
It's such a shame. I really wanted to love these. I might still pick up a 85th anniversary or Harrods as I can't see TH making more of these 'Heuer' only Autavias in the near future.

Thanks, @Ara! I learned they are in the US outlets, too. They are tempting, but after further consideration, I realized I am already satisfied with this one. 🥰

I’ve always had a soft spot for the JH80 and the subsequent variants!

$4450 USD if I remember correctly.
About $150 more than Rob's Bicycle Village but that probably fluctuates with the exchange rate, so roughly the same.
That is correct.
Oh, I see you must've called them but decided to pass.

Also considering shipping would cost about that much to the US.

Lowest I've seen for pre-owned Viceroy editions is $3800 or so, so with tax added it's still on the high side but getting closer to tempting. I still think the 2-register look with the red accents looks best on this gen Autavia.

Did the price go up? I was comparing the US outlet price of $4450 to the £3400 shown on the previous page.

Or is that the price including tax?
