The model is WS2111...I have much to learn and would appreciate knowing more about this watch. Should arrive Friday with any luck. Buying off eBay has me worried a bit and with Michigan’s shelter in place my AD is not open to validate the authenticity...yikes what have I gotten myself into? Is it really not automatic?
The watch you have IS automatic. It's just not technically a re-edition (although it sometimes gets lumped in with them as it has a similar case and size and I think TAG actually branded it as part of their Carrera re-edition line up). It was launched at around the same time (or a bit after) the original Carrera re-editions in the 1990s - these were more exacting copies of the 1960s Heuer chronographs. Yours is a 3-hander model with an automatic movement. The chronographs had a manual wind movement. I wouldn't worry too much about the authenticity - I don't think I've ever seen a fake of these models.

Read more about the chronograph re-editions here: https://www.calibre11.com/heuer-carrera-1964-re-edition/
And a bit more in this thread: https://forums.calibre11.com/threads/after-the-re-editions.46630/
Don't think there's a specific article here about your watch, but there is a thread here: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f25/tag-heuer-re-editions-351139.html

Fantastic news and thank you so much for the information / links. Given the age and the fact that the original owner had not serviced the watch (it is running and keeping time) I feel I should have it serviced . Did I overpay at $1500 all in?

I think the value of these is about £1000 in the UK, which equates to just over $1200. But as with all used watches, the price can vary a lot depending on condition. Always worth paying a bit more for one in top condition and box/papers can also help add value. I never factor service costs into my purchases - safe to assume it will need one at some point, and if a seller says it has had one, you've usually no idea who did it and whether they did a good job. If it's keeping good time, then I wouldn't necessarily rush to have it done (but that's just me).

Ok so I’ve been wearing the WS 2111 for a week now. It’s in beautiful shape and keeps time perfectly, box and paperwork in very good shape...having said that I’m not loving it for the following reasons...the case is small at 36 mm...I have been wearing a WAC1110 Formula 1 everyday for the past three years and I believe that case is 42 mm. I think I prefer a little bigger case despite having a thinner wrist. The WS2111 is also lighter and again I think I prefer a watch with a bit more weight to it. I’m now thinking I should be looking at a Monza or maybe even a Monaco re edition. I like the re-edition s because of the history they represent, and I like the shapes on both those models {Monza more than the Monaco} They also tend to fit my budget. While now is not the time to sell my WS2111 Carrera...it is a good time to buy. Any thoughts from the group on this would be helpful and well received...

You can never go wrong with either but I agree with you, the Monza is cooler than a Monaco.
@Albert-AMG help this guy out by posting some porn of your Monza to push him towards pulling the trigger

😁 Yes @Kbayless , the Monza is great! 🥰 It has a great personality, it’s very comfortable... I just love it! 😀

This post is from the first day it arrived at home... some kind of “unboxing”:

That monza looks really good, thanks for posting @Albert-AMG
Thank you! 👍 I found it brand new just four months ago in the official TH outlet boutique... so it was impossible to resist! 😉

You can’t go wrong with either a Heuer Monaco or a Heuer Monza! 👍

Both have distinct personalities & design package but both also have great motorsports pedigree & history! 😉

If you love racing & motorsports, you will love them both 🥰

Good guess sir!

Very nice. Not sure I could pull it off but everyone needs a Calibre 36 of some description in their collection 😀.

I've never worn a gold watch, so I know exactly what you mean. So far (and it arrived a couple of hours ago 😎 ) I love the way it looks on the wrist- I think the smaller size of this Monza relative to the newer one helps. Plenty of photos coming, and yes, for those who were following the eBay auction, there is also a Gold Monaco on the way, so I'm going from no Gold to double gold in one fell swoop

I love the dial on the Cal 36 Monzas, something quite different to the usual TAG Heuer dial.

A gold Monaco, eh..... you might have to update your avatar to something a bit more blingy 😉.

Oh wow looks amazing!! AND a gold Monaco on the way? I love it! 😎

One does not become real man until you own a solid gold watch. I am yet to become a real man myself 🤔😁

I knew I was missing something...turns out it was only the lack of a gold watch holding me back!

Great watch David,
I'm like you, never owned a gold watch, but I agree with Mr Orange, the detail on the dial is really nice.

I could google this but decided to ask the group.
What does this "Guilloche Main" mean..... down the bottom of the dial next to "Swiss made" ?
Never seen that before.

I believe it is because the guilloche pattern is applied by hand ("main" = French for "Hand")
