I think I've managed to buy a couple of special TAG Heuers that I've had my eye on for a while...let's see when they turn up. No clues at this stage ::stirthepot::
Any clues?

Any clues?
Two different series, but with something special in common...both variants of series that I already have in my collection.

Hi Guys,

After your sage advice. I've been offered a very good price on a CS3113, which is a watch I've been pondering for some time to go with my CS3110. Only issue seems to be that the paperwork and caseback show it as a CS3110. I've seen a couple of posts on the forums before of incorrect caseback model numbers on these watches, but suspect it's an after-market job (e.g. change of dial colour) rather than a mistake from the factory. Other than that, it seems to be in good shape, except for possible relume job on 3,6,9 markings and a bit of discolouration on the other hands and dial lume. Box and papers are present, as is the Heuer strap clasp.

What do people think? As I say, the price makes it attractive as it's below market for these watches, but then the reason is probably the above, i.e. if I bought it, it might be tough to move on if I wanted to sell later on? Should I just steer clear? What price would make it attractive to you? TIA.

Yes, I think this is a tough one. If you are planning on keeping the watch for a long time, then it really doesn't matter about the watch not having the correct back plate, unless it's something that bugs you.

The problem will come if you plan on selling it- you'll for sure sell it at a discount to the market price, just as you today have a chance to buy at less than the market price. I'd look at it that the discount you are getting today is the discount that you will receive if you sell tomorrow. If it were me, I would pay more for a correct watch and then you have something worth more.

Of course, if it's being sold for a silly price, maybe you have nothing to lose?

Below is the sellers description of the Carrera re edition I purchased this afternoon. My first Automatic Watch joining my 1500 and F1 quartz Tag Heuer’s...This is my first purchase off of EBay (makes me a little nervous) but so looking forward to receiving it. Had my eye on this model for quite some time....

”Heuer Carrera Re-Edition 35mm case on alligator leather strap With Box And Papers, including the original warranty card, owner’s manual, leather inner box and outer box plus box wrap. Almost impossible to find, this is the complete package- exactly as it came new from the store.”

Congrats. It's not automatic though, it's manual wind. Presume you mean mechanical. Which dial colour did you go for?

At 35ish mm, it might be an ws2113 or similar, like in my avatar.

Which reminds me, I haven't worn mine in a while.

Good point, could be, although not technically a "re-edition", is it?

I meant to say that, while they are commonly advertised and referred to as re-editions, they are heritage inspired rather than being a close copy of an actual old watch.

The model is WS2111...I have much to learn and would appreciate knowing more about this watch. Should arrive Friday with any luck. Buying off eBay has me worried a bit and with Michigan’s shelter in place my AD is not open to validate the authenticity...yikes what have I gotten myself into? Is it really not automatic?
