It's a beauty Albert! Who would have ever thought you and Mr Orange could ever have such a bond....😁
I'm sure there are more Heuer/TAG Heuer we both love! For this reason we are in this forum 😉
Thanks! 👍

My 300 SLR arrived today! ::psy:: 😀
Last time I saw one on the metal was nearly 10 years ago, and it looks even better than I could remember! 🥰 The pictures cannot show how nice it is!

It’s brand new and full set, so I took some pictures before removing the stickers and label

It’s so beautiful 🥰

It has a nice number of the Limited Edition: 2222/5000, and obviously I love the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR on the back case 👍

The dial sunburst effects are amazing 🥰

It has a CAR2112-1 number. Does anybody know the difference with the other 300 SLR with CAR2112-0 and CAR2112-2 numbers? Is it maybe the production year: 2010, 2011, and 2012?
Thanks for sharing, great pics! The watch looks fabulous! Congrats again and enjoy! 👍

What a stunning watch! Good find @Albert-AMG
Thank you!! 😀

Thank you!! 😀 And it looks much better in the metal than in the pictures. When I opened the box and saw it, I thought “How could I take so long to buy it?” But it's better late than ever! 👍

Thank you!! 😀 Yes, you are right! 🥰

Congratulations Albert. Tag Heuer did a lot of things right during this period, and this is one of them.
The "-1" doesn't mean the year, I don't think - rather that it was just the second production iteration/version of this model. Might have been some minor differences from the first, but not really sure what that would have been.

Wow great photos Albert! I really like the caseback, looks very well made
Thank you Jim! 😀

Yes, the 300 SLR on the caseback is very well engraved 🥰 This is one of the reasons I couldn’t resist buying this watch: the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR “Uhlenhaut Coupé” (290 km/h street car gullwing version based on the racing 300 SLR, only two cars made) is my favourite car ever, so having the nice racing 300 SLR on the caseback is a great bonus! 👍

Thank you Yago!! 😀 👍

Thank you for the congratulations and for the info about the “-1”! 😀 👍

I took the plunge and bought an Explorer (114270, 36mm). I always loved the 3-6-9 dial pattern and was looking at homage watches but finally decided that an homage would never scratch that itch. Just placed the order and should have it Saturday or Monday. Now I need to sell off some watches to pay for it! 😁

I've got four TAG watches for sale in the marketplace.

Congratulations. Can't go wrong with this one. I have a V-serial 114270 (with the rehaut engraving) and it's currently the longest-standing watch in my collection. I've been wearing my BB58 more recently, but don't think I'll part with the Explorer. It's a classic at 36mm.

In addition to my Carrera 360 and speedy A11 50SS the Zenith El Primero 1969 original will soon arrive, trio of iconic pieces complete.😝::rimshot::

That's a lovely watch, I tried on the 39mm version and it's been on my list since. Maybe for my 40th..

The issue I have with buying a rolex is I don't know when I would wear it, as it's obviously a very expensive watch to the layman.

If you bought a Ferrari, would you leave it in the garage or drive it? 😉

The 36mm Explorer easily slips under the radar.

Definitely drive it, but as Clarkson said, the problem with a Ferrari is you can only drive it home.

The 36mm Explorer easily slips under the radar.

I'll try the 36mm next time I'm in a rolex store, I dismissed it as too small, typically I wear a 41 or 44mm aquaracer. The 39 was pretty perfect:

I think I've managed to buy a couple of special TAG Heuers that I've had my eye on for a while...let's see when they turn up. No clues at this stage ::stirthepot::
