Hmm the next purchase....

After trying a couple of Monaco I'm particularly interested in one of these right now. I'd like to see a grey dialled caw211b in the flesh, and I think the french limited edition is fantastic. However i will probably wait and see what the 50th anniversary brings.

But there's one that keeps calling to me. The heuer AMI. If one of these watches in great condition crosses my path I will find it very hard to resist.

images added with website headings for image credits.

That ami is on my list as well but prices are a bit ridiculous imo. I bought an Orfina porsche lemania for a third of the price.

At the airport now, just tried on the Monaco P. Even better in the metal than expected! The sales lady offered me this one for 3.870 euro... So tempting! Damn you watch addiction!

I tried on two watches yesterday, both second hand, one a Brietling Blackbird chrono in second hand! shop, liked the watch fine but not sure I "needed" it and about the price without papers although it came with a certificate of authenticity from an AD that serviced it before sale, the other was a 6 month old Omega Seamaster 007, boxed with all the stuff and immaculate but, once again price made me think twice, so instead of jumping in I came home and did a little research and found a brand new one at a dealer in the UK at 拢575 cheaper, I'll keep looking in the windows I think, nothing so far has demanded I take it home, and it keeps wifey's face happy(ish).
Sorry took pics on the phone and then accidentally deleted them, fool!

Currently searching for "The One" - the right Monaco. But also now intrigued by the Carrera Flyback.

If you can wait a year, the 50th Anniversary Monaco could be a contender.

With all the hype and high hopes for that one I can really see everyone getting super dissapointed when the anniversary model turns out to be a skeletonized ceramic modular futuristic model a la Biver 馃榿 lets hope not though!!

A blue classy model with the real Tag logo would be nice though 馃憤 a calibre11 but a bit more modern without becoming a dress piece like the cal 12 (if that makes sense)

I narrowly missed out on a decent heuer ami this week.

On a completely different tangent I tried a bremont supermarine s301 and that was very nice - but very close to my heuer diver.

Regarding the Monaco 50th.... most seem to think a version of the 'dark Lord' likely?

Yes I suspect most are wishing but who knows.... some around here are pretty accurslate in their predictions

I didn't really take much interest in Monaco until recently but tried one on and i now 'get it'. Just goes to prove you really need to see a watch on your wrist.

the french ltd edition that took my eye is actually quite similar to dark lord in terms of dial detail.

Would love to hear more from folks about what they think the 50th anniversary Monaco will be like. Will it be styled as a vintage reissue or something new?

I really liked the recent French and Japanese black and green (respectively) editions.

I'm still a bit bitter about the Gulf 1st victory 50th anniversary edition. I hope the Monaco 50th anniversary won't be in such a super limited impossible to get hold of quantity!

At this point, it's all speculation for next year's 50th Anniversary Monaco.

2019 will be interesting for the Monaco but it鈥檚 also the 50th anniversary of the moonlanding. The new Speedy Ultraman with applied Omega logo and step dial might be a prelude to a very interesting watch to come.

I鈥檓 hoping for some thing special( I can afford) that I like, if not the IWC Portuguese Regulatuer has taken my eye, I know it鈥檚 not TH but hand layout just appeals to me right now.
