Considering a Heuer Kentucky Quartz black faced. Just trying to arrange an appointment to view it. Any views on what to look out for?

I鈥檓 still planning for a Sub no date, for the end of the year and somehow need to get a speedy in the collection.

For my birthday though I found a vintage Heuer Monza 150.501 so that鈥檚 on its way from Florida via San Francisco and on a plane with a friend heading back to Dubai tonight 馃榿

It鈥檚 not mint and shows plenty of wear of the PVD, but great price and a cool piece for my collection. And that iconic name!

Heuer timepiece number 11, which includes a clock and Heuer branded TH Carrera.

Most important for me is to make sure the dial is in great condition, then the case. The movement is easy to get sorted or replaced without issue. A lot less concerns with quartz, but if you don鈥檛 know when the battery was replaced have that done as soon as you can, as it鈥檚 cheap and makes sure no issues will arise from leakage.

Even a service for the quartz movements can be done relatively cheap, so I wouldn鈥檛 be concerned with service history if it isn鈥檛 there.

I鈥檇 also want the original bracelet on one, so check that for stretch and that it has all the links required for sizing options.

Currently thinking my next watch will be a Tudor Black Bay 58. Either used once the price comes down or wait till next year and hope they release a blue one.

Maybe. Need to see it in person really. I always liked the original Black Bay but it was a bit too large lug to lug, and slab-sided. The 58 looks great, though. More like a vintage Submariner.

I'm looking forward to trying on the 58, it looks great in the pictures. If they had released it last year, I would probably have one, but I'm going to get the Black Bay Gmt and not sure I can buy two back to back

Dear @Gambba thank you for taking the time to reply to my question. Really great advice. It really helped me come t a decision. At the same time a Heuer Jacky Ickx came up from a very trusted seller and so I went with that. This is it.
Thank you

No TAG on the radar yet. In the meantime, visiting the local Omega boutique to take a look at the Aqua Terra 150.

I've always had a soft spot for the AT and love to see pictures of it, however I have tried it on, on about 10 different occasions and every time I have walked away feeling disappointed. It's just not for me.

You are doing the right thing though by going to a boutique to check it out in the metal and get some wrist time.

What were you disappointed by? What didn't work for you?

I was super enthused for the Planet Ocean 600M GMT (below) and had cash in hand to buy. That all changed quickly when I had the watch on the wrist at a boutique in NYC. Just didn't sit right... proportions made it look like I was wearing a really thick macaron on my wrist. Needless to say, I didn't buy it.

A bit like you and the PO, it just didn't feel right on my wrist.

Yes, bracelet is critical. It's an integrated bracelet, and so you can't really fit anything aftermarket (see here)

Funnily enough, I had exactly the same reaction to that watch. Then I tried it on a couple of months later by accident (was discussing my need for a gmt with the guy in the store and he said 'try this') and fell in love with it, almost handed over 5.5k on the spot...thinking about it Im tempted to go back!

I think that's the classic problem with Omega in general.

I found myself in the same situation too. Got really excited then when i held the watch...nothing...

It鈥檚 funny. If I had to chose my most favourite watch out of all my collection it would be my 2003 Seamaster 300m.

My favourite brand remains Omega.

Stopped by a random watch store. JLC Polaris chrono. I don't know. Feels far sexier and nicer made than the Omega Speedy Moon Watch... perhaps my love affair with the latter is over.

I haven't see a Polaris in the metal yet, but it certainly looks great in the metal. I have also yet to be disappointed by a JLC that I have wanted to look at/try on.
