If there's a choice I always opt to buy it on the bracelet and order a custom strap, the OEM straps a too expensive and boring IMHO.

I’ve always tried to go OEM, rather than custom. Even when I had my Panerai prefers OEM.

From what I have read Nomos has made a thing about making the lugs too long. Like annoying people with it becomes a trademark of the brand

They don't look very long.... I thought people wanted longer lugs????

This watch made me decide to go custom from now on, Omega doesn't have anything that comes close:

And although I don't have a Breitling I can't get my head around why they charge €550 for an alligator strap.

I think this looks ridiculous

Oh, I see. Yes that looks ridiculous. Imagine how ridiculous a 43mm Carrera with Carrera lugs would look though.

Yeah they’re too long, even the bracelet doesn’t hide that fact. They placed the pinholes inward otherwise it would be unwearable.

I suddenly find myself tempted by another dark, coated square watch ... the Cartier Santos Skeleton Noctambule ADLC:

I am tempted to pass over the addition of a 1133b std production to my collection (and delay my Daytona 6263 purchase) and plump for one of these in the meantime (at a decent discount). Tell me, am I being mad?!?

OK, you're mad, but whatever makes you happy is all that matters.

If it were me, I'd certainly go for the Daytona first if I had the means rather than delay. I'm not into skeletons, but it works well enough on that Santos. Having said that, I'd rather have a 1133B over any Santos.

I don't want a Santos but having tried one on, I get it - it wears wonderfully.

Has been on my radar for a while. I’d love to try it on and see how it wears. Maybe on my next trip to Antwerp.

Part of me also really wants to like Cartier and particularly the Santos. Used to want the previous gen 100 (but the large size was massive) the 33mm is pricey for what it is and probably to small.

I've tried on both the large and medium new Santos, large felt too big, medium was very nice, but I know that bezel will be a smudge and scratch magnet, but still think an awesome watch

(if the other models hands - blue dial could be fitted that would be ideal - as I need lume).

I did try on this version thinking it would be amazing - but felt very light and 'cheap' at the time. Shame as the look great being DLC.

I do think the medium in the right strap looks great. Yes the blue hands pop, but I’d love them to be lumed hands. (Picture from Instagram and not mine)

Tried this on years ago, always been at the back of my mind. But if the Santos is cool now then I guess I can forget about it... 🙄

Don't worry, if am thinking about it as a potential purchase, it definitely can't be cool! 😝

No I'm pretty sure Cartier is the new 'thing' now everyone's bored with Rolex and Omega

It's an 80s James Bond watch, so that makes it cool! 😎
