TB delivered in Jan-2023. I have nothing big on the radar anymore - so that’s a 100-bucks-per-month spend until delivery…

And - I have been kind of curious about the Monnin case for a while now 😉
How much was it though?? The 844 divers are still pretty affordable?

I think it was 550,- with a Ronda auto and about 680,- with an ETA. I might be wrong about it, but as of late I’ve found the original 844s to become inappropriately expensive - with a lot of partial Frankens out there that I wouldn’t be able to spot 🙁

New Timex - I always wanted to get a vintage inspired mechanical or automatic Timex. My grandfather wore one when I was little. He gave me my first watch as a kid, it was a digital Timex. I always admired his mechanical. I will think of him every time I wear this. Inexpensive nostalgic fun. 👍

Congrats @thingziliketoo! I also have nostalgia for Timex. My very first watch was a cheap Timex. I think I was around 12 or 13, but I loved it.

My first watch was a wind-up Timex too (white dial). And I was given a second by someone too (brown dial). Absolutely loved them. Unsure what happened to them but probably thrown away 🙁

Just landed. Nice fun piece.
Mine says hi. Wonder if they use original Orfina cases. Looks exactly the same.

Nice. I don’t wear it super often but my original Red Ball diver really hits the sweet spot. Still has a ~50hr power reserve even after all these years.

I just picked up this off eBay, brand new in box - I was the only bidder so I got it for a superb price, around £100. Having always been a huge fan of the 6263 Daytona I have been looking for a fun homage for a while now, and this fit the bill nicely.

It’s an OceanX Speed Racer II Chronograph. I don’t know much about the brand (I presume they’re Chinese) but they seem to churn out pretty nicely made Rolex homages.

The specs are pretty good - solid link bracelet, ceramic bezel, sapphire Crystal. It’s only a Miyota quartz movement but I’m not too fussed. For the money I paid I’m pretty pleased - closest I’ll get to a Daytona at the moment! It has made the urge to buy a Tudor Black Bay Chrono stronger though…watch this space.

Very nice homage!

If all goes well, I may be getting a 6263 very soon! Been on my want list for years, and I am also thinking it may provide some benefit as a hedge against inflation for some of my savings -- who knows?!.

Can't quite decide between Panda and reverse panda though!

I am leaning to reverse panda, but currently that requires me to fork out quite a bit more, whereas I have identified a panda in my current price range. The impatient part of me leads me to want to get the panda, purely because it avoids a further wait!

I would be interested to hear everyone's preference of the two.

I'd go Panda personally, just because I prefer it. This is on my grail list too.

@Monaco_Lover you are a lucky man! Reverse panda for me all day long - although I love both. Please share as much of your journey as possible so I can live my dreams through you!

For someone actually in the market for a 6263, just how much harder is it to source an exotic dial variant - are they really as rare as hens teeth on the open market?

😀 Will share, for sure! A great deal of pleasure I get from watches is sharing with fellow enthusiasts and people who appreciate the engineering and artistry.

Just from my personal view, I think finding exotic dial variant is actually fairly easy - there are always rare/exotic variants available - but finding them at a fair/reasonable price is where it is difficult.

I'm another for the reverse Panda.
