I think it was 550,- with a Ronda auto and about 680,- with an ETA. I might be wrong about it, but as of late I’ve found the original 844s to become inappropriately expensive - with a lot of partial Frankens out there that I wouldn’t be able to spot 🙁
That Timex, fan of, I be. Nice bonus that it reminds you of your grandfather
New Timex - I always wanted to get a vintage inspired mechanical or automatic Timex.
Nice. I don’t wear it super often but my original Red Ball diver really hits the sweet spot. Still has a ~50hr power reserve even after all these years.
I just picked up this off eBay, brand new in box - I was the only bidder so I got it for a superb price, around £100. Having always been a huge fan of the 6263 Daytona I have been looking for a fun homage for a while now, and this fit the bill nicely.
It’s an OceanX Speed Racer II Chronograph. I don’t know much about the brand (I presume they’re Chinese) but they seem to churn out pretty nicely made Rolex homages.
The specs are pretty good - solid link bracelet, ceramic bezel, sapphire Crystal. It’s only a Miyota quartz movement but I’m not too fussed. For the money I paid I’m pretty pleased - closest I’ll get to a Daytona at the moment! It has made the urge to buy a Tudor Black Bay Chrono stronger though…watch this space.
@Monaco_Lover you are a lucky man! Reverse panda for me all day long - although I love both. Please share as much of your journey as possible so I can live my dreams through you!
For someone actually in the market for a 6263, just how much harder is it to source an exotic dial variant - are they really as rare as hens teeth on the open market?
